Hacking Pokemon Pearl Save File?

My kids just finished Pokemon Soul Silver and now are back tracking to the other Pokemon games. They are playing with the Pearl version at the moment. Does anyone have a good Save file for the SuperCard DSOne that they can share--or can you point me in the right direction?

I'm assuming that I can just turn the cheat file on the DSOne card (EOS) and then rename the new Save file to the properly named Save file and be good to go? Is that how it works? Thanks!

Why do you need a save file when you could just play normally?

Just fun to have all the areas open with a lot of Pokemon. They've played the other (Soul Silver) for hours and hours and I'm hoping to avoid that if possible.
