I found a routine in 02260xxx this time. Weren't some people reporting addresses in that range earlier?
I have no badge, yet it freezes after ~24 events. R4 clone here

So...I have been sitting and watching this and the last topic from beginning to end,and I have to say a few things
First all,im using No$Gba 2.6a with No$Zoomer

I played the JP version(SS) when it was released perfectly,only using the code to stop the black screen,and there werent any freezes whatsoever
This was not a patched version or anything...the orginal ROM

Now,I see a lot of you complains that after the 3rd gym,the AP kicks in a lot more
...I have already beaten the game just a few minutes ago(challened Red at Mt.Silver) and the AP was the same from the beginning to end,and again-original ROM and not any patches,and this time it was without any codes

Now,I want to ask something-can anyone check on No$gba if the game crashes using this code(disable black screen) and starting cartiage directly? (not the "GBA BIOS (Nintendo Logo)" option)

Alright after 45 mins of spending with ARM 7 and ARM 9 disassembler on deSmuME.. I came to a another theory again.


First let start with the there seem to be two different set of issues I ran into..
One is black screen with music playing and the other one black screen frozen music.

From my understanding after viewing the ARM 7 and ARM 9 disaasembler.. the offset of 02260344

The game first started with the offset value 02260344 set to 02260344 00000000 with the R0 as all 0 which is the intro.
After you choose your save or ingame itself. The offset 02260344 set to 02260344 E5986848

with the R0 on the side give out a squence numbers of value and it seem to pass along with other offset.. (I'm not sure which one of the offset it pass along with)

When the game frozen and music still playing.. The offset of 02260344 E5986848 with R0 change to 0000001F

This is all what I experiences.. I could be totally wrong.

Now the other issues with the game is when it's completely frozen with the music frozen.. the offset of 02260344 E5986848 with R0 change to 00000000 and the 04000600 GXSTAT values frozen. if it was still running the 04000600 GXSTAT values will change in a squence set of numbers

The NO$GBA code isn't immune either Delta517. It gets passed the black screen but the guys in here are beyond that at this point. They're trying to find out what makes the AP kick in after the 3rd badge and a way to prevent it. Not sure how Acekard did it though.

Thanks for the quick reply, I thought so. Souldragon may be on to something, so I'll possibly hop on the band wagon and start doing tests similar to his.

The save wouldnt make a difference the AP is in the game itself not the save files and in goldenrod city the AP gets worse so its a quicker test but there have been people trying with clean games and its not working for them either eruonen

as i said before cant ackard firmware be coded in the game hex in order to prevent it from freezing just aguess
