Hacking Pokemon Black save file problem....maybe easy. idk

Alright guys, I have a save file for Pokemon Black, and I apparently deleted the actual .nds file of P.Black. Now I can't seem to get the save to work with any of the ROM's I've tried. Idk how to even tell which version of the game I tried before. all i need to do is to get the P.black to work with my save file..

time flow.

played/beat Black 1
deleted black 1 .nds file for space conservation issues.
kept save file just in case.
bought black 2 today
want to transfer save data to black 2 from one ds to another (not directly of course, through the game itself)
can't find .nds file that works with save file?

I'm confused..

the save file has this filename
"Pokemon Black Version (E) [5588][Patched].nds"

any help?

If Pokemon Black Version (E) [5588][Patched].nds is your ROM, Pokemon Black Version (E) [5588][Patched].sav should be your save. Make sure they're the same.

Thanks for the quick help, and yes, I am aware of that. The problem is that I deleted the ROM this save file was created for. I've been trying to DL other ROM's and try renaming them to the same name as the save file I still have, and seeing if it works.. to no avail.
