Instant Code Dump...

Is this some kind of NTSC/PAL issue???

WHOA... it just started working out of the blue..... after a 3rd reset....

I'll try changing sound now....

EDIT: OK, it's fully working now and I'm not sure what problem was but it's now ok. I used the jpg/mp3 m-tek posted and it still code dumped on me. Second reboot code dump. 3rd reboot it worked. This is also in normal display mode now instead of widescreen. Changed back to widescreen still works. Changed pic and sound to ones that code dumped before and they work. So i don't know what was wrong. Even with M-Tek's files it code dumped twice then magically worked 3rd try and works perfect ever since. Go Figure.

AmWiiBIOS Screen... here i come...... EDIT: My DUMMY BIOS screen looks awesome at boot with Electronic Bootup Sound. Rocks.

MORE INFO: Always code dumps with 640x480 for me. Must be 608x456 to work for me. USA NTSC 3.2U

That's your next project Crazy... utility that displays a bios screen with the info from Any Region Changer and SD Space info, console name, ID etc..... hehehe I think people would love having something like at boot.

i'll report back further in a few.. might be an issue with pic size and widescreen/normal settings or someting like that.

Does the .dol have to be a particular name? i just made it boot.dol and loaded it into preloader as that.

EDIT: Ok, here's what's happening. The 608x456 pic loads and displays while the mp3 is loading.... for about 7-8 seconds for 4 meg mp3. Im assuming when the song has finished loading then code dump. With short sound file it dumps much faster hence dump seems to come after file gets finished loading and starts to play.

Did you 608x456 for widescreen-fix? And it worked?
I try now with a big mp3.

Okay... did it. 20MB mp3-file (14min), installs very quick dol file and loads directly with dump-code (shows up boot.jpg for about 1/100sec).

Dude keep it short as 1-2MB for music, current version loads it into memory and then plays... it's natural for it to crash for such a big file

By the way previous versions got the mp3 and jpeg in the code so no sd loading... probably there is a bug in my sd loading code... I'll test it on the ntsc too...

Was just for testing. Is there any way to install it permanently within the dol?

EDIT: OOps... i need to change the Boot DOL info to CrazyIntro 0.2 now

Nice one wiicrazy it works a treat

only prob is its off centre and i need to figure the coorrect image size to avoid croping will you be doing a 16:9 version?

Hey Crazy...

A 684x480 pic works and fills the entire screen, but It's indented on the left side and the right side of picture wraps around. So then I thought about it and Tried 640x456. BINGO!

Almost a perfect full screen fit.

Use 640x456 Resolution on NTSC for your boot.jpg

640x456 seems perfect on pal

one thing i noticed is if you hold reset after the pic displays itll give you a pretty green and pink stripey screen so if you want preloader you have to hit reset pretty quick works great with replace health with back

just tested and I like!!!

1 thing ..how about when the music stops ,it auto proceeds to the system menu instead of having to press "A"..?

It's in the todo list, but in everyday use you would already press A in a few seconds
wink.gif

Having a 20-30 seconds of music will do the job for now

Id only have a 2 - 3 second snippet anyway....

Good Jod btw!!

If you need more time to decide, I would imagine all you have to do is add silence to the end of the sound files to easily increase it. I would rather have something like this than custom health screens to be honest. No dealing with system files at all. Especially if you could make it wait for input at the end to ask what you wanted loaded. I could see this taking off with more options. Is it possible to load whatever is in the DVD drive from an app like this?

Edit... Is there a limit to what bitrate the MP3 can be? Should it be stereo/mono? or does it just not matter?

When i push A button, i come back to screen and custom song..

Someone can help me ? THX

Change preloader settings to RETURN TO SYSTEM MENU instead of RETURN TO PRELOADER
Also try turning off the options below that.

I put my JPEG image in the root of the sd card and named it 'boot'. I did the exact same thing for the mp3. Why am I sill getting a file not found error?
