In Metroid Prime 4's case, there are some staunch anti-Nintendo folks that will be angry with the final product no matter what.

this is a subtle reference to the fact that nintendo doesnt care about the quality of their games anymore. They just want money.

Let's imagine this scenario for a moment, where you aren't out of touch and you don't slurp up any slop that Nintendo shoves down your throat.

Now let's say you played the game, enjoyed it quite a lot, and then someone tells you the game is trash, so you try to highlight its positive aspects, but this person is convinced that the game sucks and you're dumb for liking it. Does that opinion change your previous enjoyment of the game? Why would you take offense at someone for calling you dumb because you like a game, when you didn't even develop it?

I had fun but so few other people did and I have to accept this game is just a flawed wreck that failed to deliver on not only peoples' expectations but even the simple act of living up to the Metroid Prime name.

I played bout 1 hour of it, meh, I thought Metroid Prime Remastered was better. But it's all subjective, to each they own.

Look, I want to discuss the shit I play with other people. The problem comes with when those conversations are constantly peppered with the need to validate why you were able to tolerate something that is widely agreed to be a mistake of design.

I don't know how to teach you not to care, there will always be a myriad of opinions on everything. What difference does it make? It's not a problem to be solved, how could it? Just learn to face reality, people like different things.

I for one don't really care for 3D Metroid, I think the earlier Prime games had good atmosphere, I get why people would like them, I don't, 2D suits the concept much better IMO. You'll never change my opinion on that I can't change yours... So what? Let's just play the games we enjoy.
