Hi everyone!

I am looking to play AC3 on my switch, however i install using Tinfoil. the install completes and when i head back to my home screen there is a tile with what looks like a buffering icon on it. I try to open the game however the console tells me to update my firmware version. I am currently running atmosphere, with the system version being on 6.2.0

I am worried that i will not be able to play any upcoming titles on my switch like pokemon sword and sheild etc.

What can i do? is there any way to spoof / ignore the firmware version when installing games? update the switch?

Any advice at all would be much apreciated and I thank you all in advance for helping with this issue. Thank you!

You can try to ignore the firmware requirements. If that doesn't work, you need to update your console.

What Tinfoil version did you have? when you installed AC3 using Tinfoil, did you choose the "ignore firmware version"?
My Tinfoil version is 1.48. I had an older version that was text based that allowed the option to install with ignored firmware version.

is it safe to update the console to the latest version through the official servers or is there some particular way to do it? Noob here btw xD

You should update your console with ChoiDujourNX. With this homebrew app you can update your console completely offline and also prevent fuses burning.

It's not safe to go online on a hacked console at all.
Use ChoiDujourNX like @pLaYeR^^ mentioned.

You can update to the latest firmware (8.0.1). Everything will be fine and you wont loose your games or save files if you do it right.

Google for it. The rules here doesn't allow to link them.
I updated the firmware however upon reboot I am getting
Fatal error: [NXBOOT]: Unable to identify package1!

Press Power to reboot.

when I press power it just takes me back to this, also cannot get the console to boot in normal mode either. please help me how can i fix this?

Thanks,

What CFW are you using?
Also did you update with Choidujour and the 8.0.1 update?
We need to know exactly what you did and what you are using to be able to help you

Yes i used ChoidujourNX I updated using 8.0.1, I installed it, rebooted. waited for the reboot timer to go down and then all of a sudden it rebooted into this screen. even if i turn it off, with no rcm sd card or payload injector the console wont boot either. I am running atmosphere 0.8.8

thank you for your help

Update your CFW.

Edit: AMS 0.8.8 should work on 8x :thonk:

Update Atmosphere to 0.8.10.
Never use an out of date CFW when updating your console.

guys if i encrypt the sd card with bitlocker will i still be able to use it in the switch? I only have my work laptop as I am away on work at the moment :/

my work laptop does not let me copy to unencrypted devices... security stuff i guess lol
I doubt the Switch would work with encrypted SDs.
Also, I forgot to tell you, but once you update Atmosphere to latest, also update your payload binary as well to the latest, whichever you use (Hekate, etc)
