Tutorial  Updated

Play with your Gamecube Controller in your 3DS (without hardmod)

Note: You can use any controller, but this tutorial will only describe the steps to do it with a gamecube controller + official gamecube controller adapter. Anyway, only the first step is related with the controller. The other steps are the same for every controller.

Special thanks to Stary2001 and @KazoWAR for this awesome tool.

Requirements:
Recomended:
Steps:
1. Install the driver of the Official gamecube controller adapter in your pc (there's a lot of tutorials on the internet, so please google) and run it.
2. Configure Xpadder (It's pretty easy with a noob-proof GUI). Remember the keys you choose for each button.

Now you have to choose an option

NTR CFW (recommended - better compatibility )
3. In your 3DS install InputRedirectionNTR.cia.
4. Run NTR CFW, press X+Y and select "Enable Debugger"
5. Run the installed CIA.

Homebrew Launcher (not recommended - worse compatibility)
3. In your 3DS install InputProc.cia and put the 3ds folder in the root of your sd card In
4. Run The Homebrew Launcher and launch input_loader.
5. Press start and then x to return to the home menu

6. Now in your PC, go to the PC Client and open InputRedirection NTR.exe (InputRedirection .exe if you chose the HBL option)
7. Press F1 to set your 3DS IP address (use wireless network watcher or ftpbrony to know it) and then ESC
8. Press F2 to set the key for each button of your 3ds (you can use Xpadder to remember what keys you used for the gamecube controller). To do it, first you have to press the pre-selected key, and then press the new key for each button. Once you're ready press ESC.
9. Test the controls (also, you can press F4 to show debug information).
10. Enjoy

I've got this working with NTR viewer, so that's a good thing.

Only thing I could possibly want more is native gamecube controller support (or even c-stick support w/ the 360 controller that is currently supported)
How do you use the inputdirector with ntr viewer? when i want to execute the remoteplay() while redirector is on it wont start. or do i need to start remoteplay first and then inputredirector?

I start NTR viewer first and then open netplay and it works for me
first i started launcher and enabled debugger. in the debugger i activate remote play. then i started the input redirector. but when i start a game, the 3ds dont continue while there is the 3ds logo. the game dont load. so yeah how exactly you do this?

Input program on 3ds -> NTR client on 3ds -> Enable debug -> Nitro viewer on PC -> Inputdirection on PC

It's the inputdirection on PC being connected to your 3ds that I think is blocking nitro from connecting to the 3ds.

So sorry to bump thi thread after all this time, thoguh it might be good to bring attention to this thread anyway. So i just learned about this and it looks really cool! But.... running the ntr client on my pc gives me a black screen, and using the 3dsx version brings me back to the hbl. Im using ntr 3.4 preview 2, and my 3ds specs are in my sig.

EDIT: Fixed

does Monster Hunter Generations work for anybody? Mine works for 10 seconds, then totally lag out and freeze with last input. i am using the ntr version.

You have hunter search on. Ntr streaming and or input redirection freezes while local play is enabled.

so would the second analog (using a ps3 controller emulated as an Xbox 360 controller) work as the 3ds c stick ?

nope that one controls the touch screen, you have to lean it to where you'd want to press on the touchscreen and then use the R3 button so press the analog in to touch, you can open the ocarina and such from the controller on zelda but for specific touches it's bad.

How do i remap the analog sticks for example i wan the d pad to be on the right analog stick for monster hunter how do i do that?
