Gaming Pkmn HG/SS

Is there a way to play Pkmn HG/SS on a Emulator without all the bugs and freezes?

I have downloaded several copies, different emulators, but they all come down to Freezes or Graphical buggs (Sprites bugged for example)

From what I've read you'll need to use the "fix" codes. Google for "heartgold no$gba fix code" or something and you'll find AR codes to disable the anti-piracy.

From what I understand, the HG and SS have glitches that give you black screens after you cross 8 boarders. So if you can get your hands on a pre or a patch from the Japanese rom you might be ok.
