@deeps , looks good and interesting too..
I had already thought about installing the chip on the back. I had 2-3 suspicions that spoke against it.
1. does the circuit board bend when you screw it in?
2. can the LED from the chip still be seen from the outside?
3. the RP2040 is smaller than the finished Picofly... would it even fit?

I've removed the usb connector and LDO to reduce the thickness of the board enough to avoid any bending, and also been grinding down the sides of it to reduce its size enough to make it fit in that particular spot on the mainboard. The led cannot be seen from outside, and the solder points cannot be tested after the mainboard has been mounted in the chassis... so it was a fun thing to try out, but quite impractical.

@deeps , You could display the chip status LED on the Joycon :)
Unfortunately, the Joycon has to be modified for this.

I don't think there ever was a fully stable solution to the joycon status led, as using the already occupied pins on the joycon for the led lead to some connectivity issues.

Another useful position I've been considering for the led would be right next to the brightness sensor (on top of the oled, would be visible through the circular black transparent plastic the brightness sensor uses)

Switch Lite error code ==*. This consolé arrive death from another shop with a very very very Bad install . New install shows ==* the owner got a nand backup . Is thee any chance to recover the nand chip ? [Pictures from the other shop work] @rehius . .

the cpu flex is the problem (error code means cpu does not react to mosfet activation). Check the SP1/SP2 solder points and/or replace it.
Also, you could really use some insulation of points on the rp2040 that may touch things around it, like the 5v point against the cpu heatspreader fixture or the whole row of points against the metal shield. just add some kapton tape in between
Finally, don't highlight rehius for basic install troubleshooting

If you use back motherboard one mosfet the wier come from the back of motherboard from two place but one of them better some time. 👏

After installing a picofly yesterday it booting into ofw 1/5 times. Does this mean there’s an issue with the install or can it fail to glitch at times?

do you sell them?
In addition. I would like to buy a picofly for v1/v2 from aliexpress and i see two version.the first says picofly core and the other says new 2040 plus.are the same?what's the differnce?thanks
I would skip those clones and get a Waveshare RP2040 Tiny instead.

asi i can see they sell only the board. That means that i have to bye the other parts also?
Is it easier to be installed than the others i posted about?

A lot of people have had issues with some of those. Quality control is a hit or miss. Safer to just use a zero/tiny and wire evening directly. Yes, the hwfly style chips are an easy plug and play, but if you run into issues that's more troubleshooting you have to do.

i asked blabli and he said i will be ok with the hwfly. He soldered mine in the past. could you recommend me a board to practise on before attempting on switch?
Post automatically merged:

into what issues? you have to solder only the flex.

Look through this thread and picofly thread. You'll see different people saying their switches weren't turning on after installing those chips. Others have said maybe they're frying the emmc? Yes they can work, but like I said they're kind of hit or miss

so if something goes wrong with the installation the switch will be dead?
also what about the Waveshare RP2040-one?
