Photo filename

    I have a question:

    I wanna know if there is any way to know from what digital cam brand a photo was taken by looking their filename.

    For example if I have a picture filenamed DSCI0000.jpg I know that picture belongs to a FUJIFILM digital cam.

    You might get a clue although the better clue from naming alone is the directory name (even then it is not that easy), better option is to look at the exif data- http://home.pacbell.net/michal_k/exif_v.html is a decent start on a such things.

    EXIF is not much of a strongly enforced standard either so delve deeper and you will find all sorts of hidden things- I recall some recent issues with some pictures getting tagged with GPS location as well which is fun.
