Actually I think they will. If memory serves me correct Persona 4 is on of their most successful games worldwide do I can see them bringing it over.

Nah, they'd be crazy not to. It'll please fighting game fans, Guilty Gear/Blazblue fans and Persona fans at the same time.

Anyway, this looks like a... different direction for the franchise than I would have expected. I've heard great things about the original game, but following it up with a fighter seems... well, odd.

It's not really a follow up, it's a spin off made by another company. Atlus is currently milking Persona 4 right now so it'll be over soon.
