Breath of Fire IV
FPS: 5-35 (based on number of 3D objects on location), but often about 20 FPS.
With V-Sync ON everytink works fine, but with V-Sync OFF shows some bugs in battle.
Thank you for reporting! Only 5 fps?! That´s like an all time low! May I ask which version of PCSX you tried it on?
Also, feel free to become an editor on the spreadsheet! :)

used stable Retroarch 1.6.9
5 FPS in stages like mountains (map where Nina fell in beggining of game) and towns. V-sync off improve FPS a lot (20-30 fps), but artifacts and bugs similar to pokemon Missing No

Exemplary reply! Thank you! Only questions I have left are if it´s playable/ semi-playable/ unplayable? Also which region/ filetype if I get to nitpick? :P

Still freezes my man. It's getting infuriating lol.
Oh, well then. At what point does the app crash excactly? While scrolling (1) or while trying to load a game (2)?

If it's (1): try to uninstall the app and delete the retroarch folder from the SD card. Then simply install the latest nightly again and let the this version retrieve the needed files for the SD card. Instead of having the older files for another version combined with the newer .cia, which might have been the case for you.

If it's (2): do you have the needed bios:es?

I only ask if someone can test because I don't have my 3DS accessible at the moment.
I tested it. It boots and starts fine. Average FPS: 24-25. Playable: By my standards, no. V-Sync: Did not help FPS and caused many graphical glitches as well. Audio disable: helped tremendously. Brought avg FPS to 30-35 and made it playable. Format BIN/CUE. Retroarch version: latest nightly CIA build.

Then I just need to know if it was playable, semi-playable or unplayable (according to you)!!! :yay:
Sorry for being so annoying!
Semi-playable. Game feels like 0.5 speed, but no bugs (in v-sync) and all effects (like smooth when Fou-lu run away from forest in fire).
If plug-in will work a bit faster, that would be "playable".

Thanks for keeping a record of these! I figured turn-based strategy would be the most appropriate genre given the fps issues.
  • Final Fantasy Tactics is playable, 45-55fps (some drops), with audio glitches and some slow down at text heavy cut-scenes.
  • Civilization II is near perfect, 55-60fps, with reasonable audio
Retroarch 1.7.0

Rom type:
EBOOT.PBP

BIOS:
scph5500
scph5501
scph5502
(more is better right? all the regions! :P)

Main settings:
Vsync: OFF
Audio Sync: OFF

Options settings (set using Options from quick menu once content has been loaded):
Frameskip: 1
Enable Dithering: disable

I tried hard to improve Tactics... Can anyone recommend better settings?

Exemplary reply! Thank you and you´re welcome! And yes, the RPGs are the most appropriate!
If you want better performance for Tactics - begin by setting audio resampling to nearest in Settings → Driver (should always be on nearest). Turning ON audio mute, in Settings → Audio, helps in some games I think, but takes away a part of the game...
