Patching deviceID on CFW boot: Is it possible and would any devs be interested in implementing it?

(to CFW devs) Would it be possible for these ideas to be implemented?

  1. Yes, and I now plan on trying to add these features Soon™.

  2. Yes, but I am busy working on other projects for the time being, so it could be a while.

  3. Yes, but I am not interested in adding these features.

  4. Yes, but there is already a relatively complicated and incomplete way to do this with NTR; use that!

  5. MCIT users should continue to stay banned from all online services! They deserve it!

  6. No, it does not work quite like this.

  7. No, you are wrong about all of this.

Recently, Nintendo has implemented a new type of online ban, mainly impacting MCIT users. It even bans the victims from the eShop, so please keep that in mind if you were leaning toward the 5th choice in the poll (and remember, it is never too late to change your vote)! No one is 100% sure what Nintendo is using to identify whether or not you are banned, but after some research, me and several others well-versed in the matter strongly believe that these are deviceID bans.

I noticed that they appear to be patchable via NTR. The only problem is that the Miiverse applet does not work when NTR is being used (Unless this problem has since been fixed. I could not find out if it has been fixed after searching about it.).

Here are my original posts about this:
So here is the idea that I thought of:

What if, in the menu that appears before launching some CFWs, you could enable deviceID spoofing, edit the deviceID that gets sent when responding to requests from Nintendo's servers, have it save to a settings file on the SD card, and have the CFW automatically use the custom deviceID each time that the CFW launches?

In the NTR tutorial that one of my quoted posts linked to, the XMLs also seemed to indicate than the same thing can be done with the information from SecureInfo_A files, because there were serial number and region options.

Could the same idea that I outlined above also be used to quickly and easily switch your emuNAND (or sysNAND for a9lh users) region for accessing an out-of-region eShop (as long as you have the necessary system titles installed for other regions, of course)?

If any of this is possible, are there any experienced CFW devs that would be interested in implementing these features into any one of the popular CFWs?
Here is a mockup of the type of menu that I have in mind:
    Thank you in advance!

Oh, they do? Because the last time I tested (NTR 3.1), they either locked up the system or killed NTR.

Has that been fixed in an update, or is it just from using a N3DS?

Hmm? I'm using NTR with the web browser at this very moment.

Look at the previous posts. It just doesn't work on O3DS.

100% boot. Never had a problem before.
(Whoops. I wasn't expecting anyone to respond so fast. Sorry for double post.)

It does for me. I use my 2DS almost as much as my n3DS. Though NTR does fail sometimes, that's upon loading the app, not outside.

Personally, I'm not sure why it would kill it. Are you using 3.3 and above?

Actually, no. I last used NTR 3.1, because my 3DS bricked in April. And yes, it was a thing. The app would either hang, or just execute and kill NTR. I don't know why, either.

No one want's to do this as you run the risk of banning innocent people if you happen to spoof using their info.

You already risk that with SecureInfo evasion, and on top of that the odds are incredibly low.

Making a bunch of NNIDs to use with MCIT for posting some harmless custom images to Miiverse. For some dumb reason, Nintendo is doling out much stronger punishment for posting these images than for cheating online.

When you get banned (including permanent bans) for cheating online, at least you can still access the eShop to buy content and redownload your purchases. Not to mention that there are fewer and easier steps to overcome those bans. With two of my NNIDs (both linked to a 3DS with one of these bans), I cannot even use them for the My Nintendo rewards program (not that it matters when there are no exclusive physical rewards like there were with Club Nintendo).

I have always advocated against piracy, but now that I cannot even access the eShop with my account that is tied to hundreds of USD in 3DS and Wii U purchases, Nintendo has left me with no realistic alternative for eShop exclusive content.:hateit: Also, why should I buy anything with a different NNID when Nintendo could ban that NNID from accessing the eShop at any time for the most harmless things? It simply does not make any sense whatsoever to buy what is essentially a license for that content that could expire at any time without warning.:glare:

From now on, I will just stick to used games and make backups to avoid needing to keep the game cards and discs around at all times. In addition, I will buy PC versions of multiplatform indie titles, and just use copies of them from certain sites to access them on Nintendo hardware.

For these reasons, defeating Nintendo's banning techniques is always an extremely satisfying experience. After being pushed around for long enough, it always feels great to essentially give them the middle finger until the point if/when they come up with a stronger ban.;)

I apologize for the rant, but I just hope that we can get around these new and more advanced bans Soon™.:(

Well, I had to go with the 5th choice.
When you're using a hacked device, you should at least be clever enough to use it properly, in the most "vanilla" way, like any "normal" of non-hacked device user.

I think there are other things to do in 3DS hacking than helping people who can't respect a few rules to avoid sanctions...
    You kinda deserve it. ;)

While I agree that showing your hacks off instead of keeping a low profile isn't the smartest thing to do, I still don't think that MCIT users are the ones who deserve to be banned most. I'd say Sky3DS users deserve to be banned from everything more, but MCIT users should only be banned from Miiverse.

    Exactly what @Hayleia said.
A ban from Miiverse? Of course.;)

A ban from the eShop? It is an incredibly ignorant business decision that has the potential to lose them the financial support of high-paying pro-hacking, yet anti-piracy consumers.

That makes no since. why bother using some one else's info? All this has to do is create fake information with fake data.

Edit: I know this has nothing to do with vpn's but I will use them as a example. A vpn can create fake information on the location of some one or some thing in the middle of the desert or the ocean.
