So i noticed there isn't a maintainer for PALib so there haven't been any updates for a while.
It doesn't work with new versions of devkitPro.
I also remember reading that PALib was obsolete and to be deprecated (not sure if its true, i cant provide a source).

I remember using PALib briefly a few years back, and i personally enjoyed the many of the conveniences it provided.

Can someone tell me the future of PALib and weather i should use it or not?

PAlib has no future.
The development has been discontinued.

You can use it, most developers still use it to make new homebrew.
Though, it's lacking few new functions, like DSi mode access. (there's a new library for that, check the homebrew bounty forum).

Some developers prefer using LibNDS instead of PAlib.

That's a shame.

Although, libnds has come along way in terms of user friendliness.
The problem i find is lack of upto date tutorials. The documentation and examples are just not enough to learn grounds up from.
