Cool! Thanx for the input!

I'll take my chances with the 640 GB version!

Yes I know, but I just wanted to be sure.
For exaple my Samsung s1 does'nt work.
Also one of my unbranded hdd enclosures does'nt work.

I was looking for a new drive since my 1TB WD Elements crashed.
Instead of going for a drive with a power supply again, I wanted one without the hassle of one.

And since the PB Silver is about the size of a pocket calculator without the need of a power supply it's a double win!
I payed 63 euro incl. shipping. A hard to beat price, I think.

I just wanted to add my own experiences after using this drive for +/- 1 month.

Pros:
- Small drive, very mobile
- cheap solution.

Cons:
- Slow on startup
- Short usb cord
- After a while it becomes very hot.
- After playing games from Usb loader or Emu's, it sometimes ( often ) fails to initialize again.
Shutting down the Wii is the only way to reinitialize.
- Wad managers have trouble recongizing the Drive. Only works 1 out of 20 times.
- Suffers from the lag issue, found in some drives using Waninkoko's CIOSx rev 20 and 21. ( fixed using an alternative Ciosxd2x or Hermes ).
- Inside drive is not replaceable.

If someone has solutions to some of my cons it would be appreciated.

As far as my opinion goes, I would'nt buy this drive again.

Ive heard a couple of people advising not to buy PB HDD's for the same reasons as you, they ended up returning it as "not fit for purpose". As you've not changed the format of the drive (i.e formatted to WBFS) then there's no reason why you can't do the same.

No probs, good luck. Stand your ground quoting "I know my rights as a consumer!"
