Hey guys. Well I got a Radeon 1600X or something that I bought about a year ago. Well it's been making a lot of noise these couple of weeks (i think it's the fan). Anyways, when playing tf2 I got a message that it was overheating and that it might be because of the fan. Now is this something I can solve by myself or do i need to buy a new one? Any help is apreciated!

Edit: Oh and tf2 stands for Team fortress 2

well imo if the fan is making noise, it probably isn't spinning at its rated speed. You could peel back the sticker and put a drop of teflon lube in there, but pretty much you might want to replace the fan or h/s and fan assembly. I see small fans on dealextreme.com probably intended for such an application but of course there's also replacement coolers around, dozens of them. I've had video cards do weird things and die on me, usually I tend to just RMA them instead of dealing with these hassles.

You don't have to fix it yourself or buy a new one.

In fact, leave it alone if you want your warranty with ATI/ AMD intact - as peeling the sticker will count as "tampering".

Go to

http://www.amd-firefly.com/firefly2007/fir...loadTemplateID=

and fill out your details and they will replace it under warranty (has 3 years, as x1600 was before they changed it to 1 year only).

If you have trouble with that nasty link - use this one and select "Getting Warranty Service"

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.

I live maybe 3 minutes from a Dairy Queen, so I would just go there for ice cream anything anyways. I usually get the Oreo Blizzard, or a Peanut Buster Parfait.
