As the description says, I am at odds about getting one or the other. The Price point will be about the same. I am wondering exactly how good is the Wii is at emulating special chip SNES roms, such as Mega Man X2 and X3 and is there a PS one Emu for the Wii ?
The OUYA will have Android based emulation and that should cover up to the PS one era.

Snes9x Next (part of RetroArch Wii) emulates special chip games very well, such as Yoshi's Island, Mega Man X, X2, X3, and Star Ocean all run full speed. There is a PS1 emulator called WiiSX but hasn't been updated in ages. It's cheaper to hack a Wii than to buy an overrated Android gaming console; the Wii can do what the OUYA can do, but it's less of a hassle to deal with.

What Randomizer said plus if you get a Wii that has GC ports you can play GC and Wii games.... The Ouya as cool as it is will never be able to play those.

thank you the_randomizer , I actually scoured the web for this conversation but found nothing. I even checked out youtube with the title "Mega Man X2 on the Wii" it did not show up with the emulator. I believe i'll get the Wii now.
