Hacking Out of the loop for a while... Pleasehelp me clarify a few things?

I have read the stickied topics but I am still confused.

My Wii is running on 3.2u and it is softmodded with the Homebrew channell and various backup loaders from around last December.

I am buying Wii Sports Resort tomorrow and I understand that the game comes with a forced update. Now is there a way to update my Wii to 4.0 (4.1?) and play Resort without bricking my Wii or anything.

I am not playing anything at the moment so I am even willing to erase the Homebrew Channel, update to 4.0 and reinstall everything at a later time... is that even an option? Is there a Homebrew solution for 4.0?

What exactly do I have to remove from my Wii if I want to just upgrade to 4.1 through Nintendo and forget about hacks until a more stable solution is available....

Can I remove the Homebrew Channel, but install some .wads for a few VC games?

You really should use the Waninkoko loader, I used it and it worked perfectly, I went from 4.0 to 4.1 I updated from 3.2E i think with homebrew channel, no cIOS's installed and the channel stayed, i lost the twilight hack save but everything else was find. If you remove the homebrew channel you loose the ability to launch a Wad Manager. Keep the homebrew channel, Upgrade either legit with nintendo or with Waninkoko and make sure your wii doesnt get unplugged mid way, thats how it bricks the wii

No, you can play it on 3.2E fine.
No need to update.
