OTP Guide

Full Guide Release!

https://plailect.github.io/OTP/

All regions now supported!

If you appreciate this guide and the work I put into maintaining it, I accept donations through both Bitcoin and PayPal.

If you felt like the guide helped you out then I'd really appreciate it! If I get enough I may buy a 2DS for testing hardware stuff so I don't break another N3DS.

If the guide didn't help you out then I'm really sorry about that :(

i got the one with the lowest power usage (15 W) i could find, it didn't burn anything, even when i stuggles at the beginning
The problem with a lower powered iron though is that you might have to leave the iron on the solder for longer to get a good joint, which could damage the board. Though I could be giving biased information on the basis of my terrible soldering ability and horror stories of soldering anything other than wire to wire :p

OK, because other than a 3DS hardmod, I also want to RGH my xbox, install openwrt on my routers etc, which all require soldering. I do know how to solder, but not to SMD boards... I will practice on my old BT homehub 3 before my 3DS :p

didn't happened to me

I get a black screen when opening decrypt9. I booted to sysnand, ran HBL using CN, and launched D9 straight away. I've tried rebooting but it does the same again. Any ideas why this is?

I think there was a build of Decrypt9 that included a feature not yet in the newest release. are you using that?

Thank you for this, although it's not something I'll try right now. Just got my n3dsxl and I'm not modding it yet.
I'm holding out hope for that brute force method I heard of for the n3ds that apparently doesn't require messing with the sysnand.

My nands are backed up, sysupdater CIA is installed on sysnand, now in pasta mode.
Do I push that button?... OMG...

PUSH IT!

That requires a hard mod IIRC.
