OTP Guide

Full Guide Release!

https://plailect.github.io/OTP/

All regions now supported!

If you appreciate this guide and the work I put into maintaining it, I accept donations through both Bitcoin and PayPal.

If you felt like the guide helped you out then I'd really appreciate it! If I get enough I may buy a 2DS for testing hardware stuff so I don't break another N3DS.

If the guide didn't help you out then I'm really sorry about that :(

If you are doing this on New3ds without a nand mod then use the version I used. Shadowtrance posted he had a lot of grief with ending up with frankenfirmwares due to using different versions of that tool. Its also been posted that the linux variant also leads to frakenfirmware.

Thank you!

you can easily build one, but here's one I built and have been using myself

Thanks guys! I downloaded the one @ihaveamac attached above as although I could build my own, I would rather use one I know has been tested and works :)

Got everything downloaded and prepped now... My highlighter is ready :D

Auch, you have a hard mod, just go wild :P

Think I'll hard mod my 3DS some time soon. Have some minor soldering experience. Need to find the parts to do it.

Yep, I'm going into this without fear :D

TBH for the cost of a decent soldering iron, you could just pay gamesquest1 to do it for you!

I have an iron just now but the tip is a little too large for this IMO. Well, it would be risky anyway as I don't have the steadiest of hands. If there is someone in the UK who can do it for me I may well consider paying for a "professional" job.

Will probably just try a risky effort without a hardmod with a sysnand backup and if I screw it up, I'll get a hard mod done for restoring brick.

Yep, contact @gamesquest1 :)

Quick question, do the CIAs go directly into SD:updates/ or should they go within the 2.1.0-4E(Full) subdirectory?

Thanks. I've never used sysupdater (downgrade was carried out for my by my hardmod installer :))

So it should be SD:updates/*.cia right?
yes, then go to sysUpdater and downgrade I guess, unless something else needs to be done (haven't tried this on new myself)

My sensibility instinct is saying avoid this like the plague (for now)
My hacker's instinct is saying JUST DO IT!
Original Launch Day O3DS (so 1.0.0-1E), no hardmod, but do have NAND backups.
tbh I could probably send my 3DS off for a hardmod if it breaks...
