That fix is only needed for games that force 'enhance pointer precision' to turn on (old games like CS1.6, Quake 1+2, etc). It only forces it in some older games and programs. In others, unchecking 'enhance pointer precision' is all that's needed.

I know ._. They really need to do something about that. Sometimes I'll friend someone and they'll have no idea that I did it. It tells you who's mutual friends with you on the website, but when you friend them they don't get any sort of request or the like :/

The mutual friends thing was actually added only a few months ago, and peppy said he was thinking that revealing people who have added you but haven't added back might possibly cause drama.
Darn, that's disappointing. I doubt it'd be as much trouble as they make it out to be, but I can see where they're coming from. I'm still hoping that...somehow...Peppy changes his mind, and really for the reason in the last statement. That last statement just referred to having a list of people who have you friended that you haven't added back. The friend request feature was a different feature request and was denied because of the amount of objections from other players.
