What if someone got the rom from braindump?
how do you apply the xdelta patch directly to a romfs file?

I think you have to patch 3ds rom not the romfs file, thats how i`ve done it and then convert 3ds rom to CIA!

So, there is no way with braindump.
You have to find a rom on the internet which is not a romfs.bin, apply the xdelta patch, convert the converted file to cia and extract the romfs from the cia?

Yep you can`t patch .romfs file with .xdelta patch!
