Hello everyone.
Today, i have a quick question.

Is it possible to use Atmosphere on the Nintendo ONLINE without getting banned ?
On PS3 i'm using my Ferrox CFW online (with PSN Patch) and haven't been banned in more than 4 years.

I saw someone on Youtube editing his save data on live, with atmosphere, and online (on Animal Crossing : New Horizon).
And he isn't banned yet.

Even when launching JKSV he is still connected to the internet x)

Thanks for reading and have a good day :D

The answer is an absolute no, if you go online with cfw you will get the ban hammer, nintendo does not play around. Most likely what the person did was either use 90DNS or delete their prod.info file to access the internet and not use nintendo's server. However even with those two methods it will not guarantee that you will be safe at all. So pretty much if you have cfw, just keep it all offline just to be safe.

There's no 100% ban proof method, some can get away with it for sometime but we are never sure that they will never be banned. Tho you are 100% sure to be banned if you use installed NSPs that you do not own online. Heard some people saying that just using some homebrews won't trigger bans, like save restoring and stuff, but even then they do ban sometimes (in some games, it seems that they do it for Splatoon and Animal Crossing for example)
So no, there's no 100% ban proof method, just use incognito/90DNS if you still want to use your Internet connection but even then you are just reducing the odds of getting banned, not eliminating them.

Piracy = high risk
Homebrew = moderate risk

I personally wouldn't do it, but Atmosphere and some homebrew seem to have the possibility of being safe-ish. I would never use homebrew while connected to the internet.

Just because you saw a video of someone doing it doesn't mean they weren't or won't be banned later.

Don’t risk it unless you’re mentally prepared for a ban. I only started taking one of my hacked Switches online (sparingly) a few days ago - so far so good but afaik bans aren’t instant. If this one does get banned it would suck, though I suppose it’s not the end of the world.

You can go online, you won't be banned instantly.
But the mere act of opening an NSP installed game will almost guarantee you a ban, sooner than later.

Yes, you can go online using Atmosphere.
All you need is an absolutely clean NAND backup.

I have been using a banned Switch for about a year now. I don't play online, but I update some games online and so far, I haven't been banned. I don't have a Nintendo account linked to this Switch.

Thank you for explanation. But what's the most "save" way to use "small hacks" (like all fishes and some furniture) and then play normal online with friends? Is there a way to deactivate anything so Nintendo don't see it when I play online?

The safest way is to remove the internet settings from the Switch, make a clean NAND backup, run Atmosphere, backup your save file, edit the save file, restore the save file, trade whatever is important to a clean Switch over local play, restore the clean NAND backup, and then trade back the items over local or online play.

OK thank you. Then I will wait for an update to #Hack my other Switch which is a never version.

Atmosphere is not the main issue. What you do with it is.
There is telemetry and Nintendo knows what you have installed/what you play and they can tell the difference between legit purchased games and pirated ones. Also, anything that modifies the NAND comes with risks too, such as save editing. Title patches and homebrew (which also uses title patching) patch data on the fly, which is less risky but could still be detectable. Basically anything out of the ordinary you do has the potential to be detected, even if the risk might be small.

I run CFW on SysNand and I havent been banned. I dont run cheats, I dont pirate games, and neither do I run all homebrew apps. I only just use EdiZon to backup/restore save data and I've been doing it for well over a year. I'm 100% connected to the internet

    One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

    I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs

    I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
