Jup we have all heard of it , still I think the DS-X doesn't deserve a 9.5/10 as in the fact that it isn't that perfect. It only has 512MB for crying out loud , also thats one high grade you guys gave it , A card should have a AVI player built in to deserve a 9.5/10 if you ask me.that said while the NinjaDS does the same job with future updates perfecting it , and that bitch can fire up cards that go up to 4GB , it has the same functions built in as the DSX and has an actual WiFi server built in .

Something that should get higher than a 7/10 , I guess you guys where suppriced with the DS-X working that good , but I am sure that the Micro ninja should get higher then the DS-X , but that would give it a 10/10 , which would make it the perfect card , something that it wouldn't be , cuz the perfect card doesn't really excist.

What did I just ask for , change that 9.5/10 into a 8.5/10 it was to high.

You're right, who cares if a cart is easy-to-use, nearly 100% compatible, offers great English support, has incomparable compatibility with homebrew, and much more. It should obviously have 10GB onboard memory with a slew of built-in functionality such as an AVI player, calculator, calendar, dictionary and voice recorder.

When should we expect a review for the ninjapass x9 slot-1 flashcard?
I'm really antsy to see how it ranks with other slot-1 cards.

I was just saying , that now its impossible to say a device is better then the DS-X cuz that would mean it would get a 10 for an grade which would make it perfect.

And in my oppinion the DS-X is not almost perfect : 120 bucks and 512 MB ? give that sucker a lower grade please!

@Costello , my Paypal account has almost been set up , your 1000 bucks will be there as soon as you can say Microninja.

To some, 512 is all they need.

Considering the review was done by Shaun and then Costello with the assist, it was their opinion to the score the DS X received. You want them to change it according to your opinon? What about the guy who comes along and thinks it deserves a ten? Will Costello change the score then too?

Nah. While I don't really agree with the score, with the exception of storage size it really is the hot tamale right now.

Thanks for the chart. This is fanstastic...exactly what I needed!

I'm really keen on getting the DS-Link but I just needed to know what Playing games over Wi-Fi DS2DS was like. Only card that does this is DS-X.

Anyone have any idea what it will be like for Acecard?

I have a good idea for you Timo710.
Collect all existing linkers (at the time we wrote the DS-x review we had them all - now we miss the acekard, microninja, x9... they're all on their way!) and write your own review of the DS-Xtreme. Base your rating upon your own experience with the other linkers.
There you will be able to post a very nice user review which will have the rating you wish to give it and our members will pay attention to your review because you propose an alternative point of view.

Sounds fair, doesn't it ?
Now start collecting the linkers

The DS-X supports "download play" (multiplayer gaming with only 1 game), with all DS, flashed or unflashed.
The other carts support download play too but to *flashed* DS only.
but ALL of them support "multicart" (multiplayer gaming with 1 game for each DS) with all DS, flashed or unflashed.

I don't know about the acekard, we don't have one yet.
But we should get samples in a few days hopefully

Yeah I wonder if it will be Acekard or the X9 that will be the first to get a 10 out of 10 review on GBAtemp? Since they both sound like they beat the DS-X hands down, it's only right that they'll score higher in the reviews.

DS-X currently doesn't even play Animal crossing and although pokemon ranger "works" (saves get corrupted, but according to it's supporters that's just a minor issue.

), the fact remains that this is a cart that claimed to run clean roms (As nature intended!) and hence be future proof with 100% compatability.

It's 512 limit should have meant an 8.5/9 score max. Sure it plays MP3 and video's but how many you gonna get to fit? If it took micro-SD then maybe I'd agree with it getting a 9 score....but not 9.5! (Which means it's almost perfect...when the reality is that it's far from. )

As to not revising the score earlier, the original review was on the 16th October, but the firmware update (That breaks a few previously working games, whilst fixing some others) came out a few weeks later! I can only imagine how hard the reviewers must have to work in the real world, but there was still plenty of time to amend the original review.

Anyway back on topic, the new slot one cart reviews are going to make for some interesting reading. I just hope they remember to send enough free carts to go around.

It's time to stop all the Fanboy postings once and for all! The ULTIMATE flashcart is coming...so save your money for the winner. (or get an EZ4 lite)

My money's on Acekard!

Aaahhh I see.... Thanks for the help Costello. OK, so now we play the waiting game. I really wana see how this AceCard turns out...

doesn't the ninjapass x9 support download play to an unflashed ds? if the support for it is good, i think it will be the best option, but that is a big if from what i can tell.

I'm still waiting for a nice big box on my doormat saying : Linkers , from your friends at gbatemp.
I'm not saying your review was not right , and I really do believe your point , but you can you still be proud of that review when whe are 3 years into the future , when the G6 team has made a 1Gigabyte slot-1 card , and the M3card(or whatever they will call it) , I'm trying to get somewhere , you might have gotten overwhelmed with the DS-Extreme cuz it had a very good firmware at release , the Ninja DS might be pulling the same joke off the DS-Extreme has been pulling in a few weeks , only awaiting the microninja to kick some huge but.

Costello , if a load of flashcards who have the same quality as the DSX(no patching , Mp3 built in , fancy schmancy menu's) wouldn't that mean they all deserve a 9.5/10? making it really hard to choose between devices cuz they all will get the same grades. So if it happens that both the microninja and the ninjapassmicro SD kick but , would the 9.5 change into a lower grade just to make a good oppinion , the perfect device isn't anywhere near if you ask me , and those devices arent allmost perfect at all , you will see what perfect means in a year or 2.

he was comparing it to what was out at the time. at the time, it was worlds better than the competition (a slot 1 device, that needs no patching, plays almost all games (only 1 isnt working and im sure that will be fixed whenevery they update again), and has single cart multiplayer to flashed/unflashed ds). does that mean other things will come out and be better? yes they will, but they will be fighting against whats already out, just like the ds-x did.

Just a quick note to Costello about the updated chart, acekard seems to be able to work with some 1rst party games, isn't Tetris DS realeased by Nintendo? Because download play seems to work(according to the scorpei wiki).
7llusion
PS: Would it be possible to make more games compatible with an update?

Jup but this was one of the first Slot-1 cards ever to be released , and if we have to believe the microninja team and the ninjapass team we will be getting 2 productucts delivering the same results as the DS-X but with the freedom of choice in memory depending on which MicroSD card you wish for.
I really do believe that the DS-X is the best flashcard for now , but that has to do with the fact that its much esier to deliver such results with a Slot-1 card . and that's why I find it weard that slot-1 cards are compared to slot-2 systems.
Compare the bunch of Slot-1 cards , AFTER the release of the ninjapass and the microninja , compare them like in the good oll days when the supercard was being compared to the M3.
