Is it safe to login to my brand new switch with the account that was on my old switch?

I probably got banned for booting backups via SX OS.

Thanks

It's ok to do that but when you got banned you have to call Nintendo to do that for you because you can't unlink account on banned system.

Last edited by thaikhoa,
ive been wondering the same, i have a banned console and a new one for strictly no haxx/online play. if i get Nintendo to move my account will they ban my new switch?! it has a digital copy of splatoon 2 on it, and id like to have that on the new one.

I was personally wondering if it was better to unlink my account before I even do anything hack related and possibly set up a new disposable account

I only have the BotW DLC on my main account and Disgaea 5 on my JP account. But I'm not sure what consequences there are.

Sounds like a good precaution to me.

You never know how ninty will react to things in the future - so the safer, the better.

So I learned a few things today.

You can't unlink it yourself on the website or on the switch if the console is banned.

If you contact Nintendo and say "My console is banned, please unlink my account" they will say something along the lines of "no"

If you contact them and say "Can you please unlink my account from a Switch I don't have access to" they will do it immediately.

So were you able to effectively unlink your account by using the "I can't access my switch" trick?

If I am understanding correctly

I would have went with the I dropped it and broke it. Please unlink it since I have already purchased a new one.

I will add this to my banning thread and properly credit you. This is going to be very useful information if it happens multiple times.

is this by phone call only or there's an email address to request the same thing?

I was planning on buying a new switch just to use my old account. I bought a lot of games and dlc through eshop. Has anyone tested this out yet?
