lol. in my experience the easiest way to update and keep homebrew etc is through nintendo.

as long as you have the HBC and cIOS_rev9 installed, just update through nintnedo to get everything right, (like IOS and stuff

)

then just install preloader and it'll patch IOS60 so you can play unofficial channels through the SD Menu

it's so easy lol

If you update through Nintendo, won't that update the rest of your IOS's and not allow you to run Trucha Signed games (custom Guitar Hero, etc.)?

EDIT:
QUOTE(Waninkoko's Firmware Updater 4.0) said:
[ DESCRIPTION ]:

- This application allows you to update your console's firmware installing only the needed applications (IOS, System Menu, channels...).

Thanks to it you can keep some features like Trucha bug that affected first IOS versions.
I guess the only difference between Waninkoko's updater and Nintendo's is that Waninkoko's only adds IOS60 and doesn't touch the rest of the IOS's. I'm just going to use that.

Preloader does not patch IOS 60 so it could play backup channels from SD Menu. It patches it so the System Menu and Preloader can cope together.
