I had some channels set up using Crap to load specific games off my usb stick through usb loader gx. everything was working great for a day... but when I went to start up a game today, black screen. loading usb loader and then picking the game works, just the channel itself gives nothing. any idea what happened here? I had cleaned some stuff off my sd card, but I tried restoring my sd backup and it didn't help.

i should mention that the only thing I've added since they were working is a handful of virtual console channels, which are all working perfectly. the usbloader gx forwarder channel is also working.

also: the non-working loader channels are still showing the animated banners and info, and they still start up what looks like a normal loader startup sequence, but as soon as it switches to the black screen it never goes past that. the remote stays connected, but unresponsive.

Try opening the loader, change the settings for where it updates to anything else, close it, reopen it (via HBC), then change the location to update it back to SD:\APPS\USBLoader_GX (or whereever your loader file is)
Retry opening one of the auto forwarder channels to see if anything changed.

tried again, steps this time:
change update path to SD:\Apps
return to system menu
reload via HBC
change update path to SD:\Apps\USBLoaderGX
return to system menu
reload via HBC
at this point it came up saying something about reinstalling with IOS 249 or something, disappeared too quick to fully read it...
exit to system menu
try loading twilight princess channel
still hangs at black screen

Well i scrapped GX, installed CFG USB w/ IOS222, recreated channels, all is working. It's a bit slower loading than GX was, and CFG will take some getting used to, but it works

Thanks for the attempted help, 75UR15.

Now, a followup general question for my edumacation, other than usb loader folder and apps folder, does anything else on the SD card need to stay there once installed?

This one thread should be sufficient.
We would just rather you edit your post, if nobody else has posted yet.
posting a new question in an edit on an old topic thats several pages deep isn't exactly my idea of good problem solving...

well we can obviously see how youre problem solving skills work....
if you just add all the info to the first post, you are more likely to get help, and less likely by acting like a douche

edit: its only 2 pages long bcuz u bumped it so much, otherwise it would be only 4 posts long
