Excuse my noobness, but would'nt that prevent installing a clean nand.bin?

You still need bootmii ( or a programmer ).

Or am I completely wrong?

If you're using bootmii as IOS, installing the new nand removes all traces.
If you're using bootmii as boot2, after installing the new nand and without exiting bootmii you can run the mini based hackmii installer to remove both bootmii as boot2 and bootmii as IOS. The result is a clean nand with no traces (unless you believe streamlinehd's incorrect blog post that tries to claim the boot2v4 ticket is evidence of bootmii).

My test was admittedly flawed :(

I can't seem to locate the images I originally posted but I was indeed incorrect in my assessment. To set the record straight, I ran a proper test recently by dumping a virgin boot2 capable Wii with Infectus. I compared the boot blocks from that dump to the boot blocks after installing/removing Bootmii and had a perfect match. Bottom line, the Hackmii installer puts the boot blocks 100% back to stock. Nobody would be able to tell the Wii was hacked by looking at the nand (even with boot2 Bootmii previously installed) if you were to use this tool to format and then use the Hackmii installer to remove Bootmii.

The download links aren't working. They just bring me to a blank page in a new tab.
