Wow, this guide is very impressive. Thanks for the help. I do have a few questions about downgrading the firmware though, before I do it.
( I am not very good about this kind of stuff)

1. If I get a new game -an original- and it requires an update from the disc, can I still use it?

2. When I downgrade the firmware, will the Wii System Memory be reformatted? I'm going to make backup of saves and downloaded channels, but will I loose them from the Wii memory?

3. Can I still use online play with the downgraded firmware?

4. What happens if something goes wrong during the downgrade? (Corrupted data, missing files, bad connection, etc.) Are there any steps I should take to make sure to prevent them?

I know this is a lot of information but I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out. I really want to avoid loosing anything or bricking my Wii in the process. Thanks.

IF you downgrade, get Starfall, install "Skip disc update check" hack

2. When I downgrade the firmware, will the Wii System Memory be reformatted? I'm going to make backup of saves and downloaded channels, but will I loose them from the Wii memory?
NO

3. Can I still use online play with the downgraded firmware?
YES

None, just make sure that whatever you downloaded is archived.

This guide seemed to work great. I did everything step by step to get my firmware from 3.4U to 3.2U. Didn't have any snags or hold-ups. But even now when I try and play one of my Japanese backups *tatsunoko vs capcom), I get the good ol' DVD Error 324. I've tried forcing NTCS and setting the system language to default and to Japanese. Still nothing.

Any thoughts or ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks so much!!
You should of kept your 3.4 update, I did and i got things to work even installing wads

wow..really? could you shed some insight here? i can always format, update, and start at 3.4U.

any help is appreciated!

Error 324 is bad burn. DO NOT BELIEVE what he said. 3.2 is the golden firmware for softmodders.

Also, to play Tatsunoko VS. Capcom, you need to do some special method. SEARCH first before complaining next time

Just do it normally.

Also, unless you're doing the upgrade for some Fixing method, then don't upgrade!

Ok, so I'm running the installer, going through every step and it's all going fine. But I caught something in the wad manager that did not match the one in the tutorial. My file name was IOS16-64-v257.wad and the guide's video was IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad. Is this significant? Did I download the wrong WAD? What should I do?

Google the exact file name with the prod it in, next to it, type your favourite file hoster (rapidshare, mediafire, megaupload, etc)

Something like:

Uninstalling preloader and such

In other words, do not mess with updating unless you really need to!

It reeally accords to your preference. For me, I'll go with Rapidshare

Hello, I try to follow Wii Fix procedure. After I installed IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad. I try to install cios_fix.wad, but it gave me ticket error : -2011. I tried to use WAD Manager and WAD Installer, and I received the same error.. My wii is using 3.4U firmware. How can I install cios_fix.wad? any suggestion..

Thank you

@BigOnYa well, starting with, idk which emulator should i use for switch, i got a gtx 1650, do you know which one would it better for my pc?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
The switch emulators on pc rely on your CPU mostly, and they only use a single core, so GPU not as important as a good CPU. I don't use switch emulator, but many here do, and willing to help.
