I have a similar device for my DSi, although I modded it to have an extra battery in it (3x DSi batteries connected and charging as normal).

This sort of thing is really worth the money if you don't like dead batteries!

This. It doesn't look so bad. Still gonna have to check exactly how much extra bulk is added before giving my final decision on buying or not buying.

Wouldn't mind getting it if it was from Nintendo but it isn't so will pass. Heard of bad experiences with Nyko products.

Edit: I will keep the original battery on hand too for more than double the battery life!

the only problem i ever had with nyko is the wii control batteryies stopped charging
but they lasted a year so
$20 for a year of extended battery is good by my book

Actually....seeing it on the 3ds has completely changed my opinion.....
If i have problems with the batter life when I get mine I will seriously consider this...

Okay, I decided to contact Nyko and personally ask them about the color options.

Thanks for contacting Nyko Technologies. At this time, the Power
Pak+ and the Charge Base for Nintendo 3DS will only be available in black.
In due time, we will be sure to analyze retailer and consumer demand for
other colors and new colors might be released in the future. The black goes
very well with the Aqua 3DS, and in fact the Aqua 3DS already features heavy
black highlights in its design with the casing around the 3.5inch top screen
all black.

For the price, how not bad it looks, and what I also get out of the deal I'm probably still going to be getting one for my 3DS.

Yes, EBGames wil have it. Gamestop too.
Besbuy, Walmart, Target, Sams Club, etc.
Basically anywhere that carries video games will get it in as well, or at least, this Nyko thing is listed on their website. It's sometimes called "3DS Charge Kit" btw.
