Homebrew WIP NXQuake2 - a Quake II port

Right now no. If you know of any other open source games that utilize software rendering, I might consider porting those. "Porting" Quake and QuakeII was a very simple process though, since SDL and shit.

Blobby Volley 2 would be a dream!

Using the NRO Asset Editor, use the icon attached to this post. It is already the correct format, size and resolution. The background will be black on the Switch itself.

That's good.
Since you cannot enter IPs unless you got a USB keyboard, you can add your favorite servers to the address book menu by editing the "adr#" variables in config.cfg like this:

set adr0 "123.45.67.89:12345"
set adr1 "66.66.66.66:6666"
set adr2 "12.13.14.15"
set adr3 "my.favorite.server.xxx"
set adr4 ""
set adr5 ""
set adr6 ""
set adr7 ""
set adr8 ""
...

If they're not there, just add the lines to the end of the file.

Xash3D does not have a software renderer. I will attempt to port it as soon as we get OpenGL support in libnx homebrews.
I will look into porting AlephOne, however I don't think it will be as easy as porting Quake was, so don't get your hopes up too much.

That's very nice of you still, at least if you take a look at it if there are difficulties with it we might know where they are and what ressources we'd need to resolve them

I actually didn’t make the icon, but looking at the licence it seems like it would not be a problem.

Getting rather consistent hard crashes when trying to launch the game docked. Tried Hekate, ReiNX and SX OS. Dunno if it would be my SD card, though. Anybody else?

What firmware are you on? Works in docked mode just fine on my 5.1.0 ReiNX Switch. Make sure you dock before starting the game though, just in case.

Didnt try it out too much - but got a crash, when trying to load a savegame from the "game demo" start screen.
Next time I started a new game, and the went to load my save from there - and no crash. So could be that. Could be interemittend crashes.

I experienced this while in handheld mode.

In short: It crashes sometimes when loading savegames.

Just registered to say thank you for your good work on porting the good old classics.
It would be awesome to see such ports as GZDoom (or other good source port of Doom engine with Heretic\Hexen support) and Xash3D on the Switch!
