Is NXMTP any good and safe to use.

Its had no updates from initial release back in Jan and was wondering if anyone had had any issues with it.

I have used to copy a few thing back and forth with no issues and good speeds.

Only thing that bothers me is it gives you access to the sd card, internal storage and I'm guessing the firmware partition (which concerns me) as this could lead to brick. I am using emuNANDso b am guessing it's the nand on the sd rather than the sysNAND.

Is this release stable or are there better alternatives?

Will be nice to see the open source alternative take shape, but in the meantime yes it works and it's safe. Honestly I usually forget it gives access to anything but the SD card, occasionally I notice the other tabs and it's a surprise. Just don't use the other drives and you're safe.

nxmtp does not support files >4Gb
It's actually FAT32 that doesn't support it... In theory if your card is in ExFAT (which is heavily discouraged) you could transfer files over 4GB.
Edit : I was wrong, it's the MTP process that doesn't support it

It is not true. MTP do support files over 4Gb. I can move such files via MTP to and from my pixel 3.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

MTP specification 1.1 Appendix H describes how to implement sending and retrieving >4Gb objects.

Get the version with hid patch posted in the release thread. It works fine on the latest firmware. As for files bigger than 4GB, what kind of files are you trying to transfer? If they are big nsp games, stop doing that, install them directly via USB instead. Bigger than 4GB implies you're using EXFAT. Stop using that also. Go FAT32.

Windows does not seem to respect the spec, I tried this awhile ago.

I was thinking time ago about using TWRP, because it it suppports nicely MTP on Switch, but with as less Android stuff as possible. Just straight boot to TWRP and that will work as RCM MTP solution faster than rajkosto's memloader.

    well actually
a new console won't do anything right now, because the games are still in development, that's why there are few games being released

2/3rds of launch titles for the Switch 2 will just be lazy ports of Switch games anyway.
