I've gone to town making sure ports aren't blocked, Windows and Malwarebytes aren't blocking it, without success. The Nut GUI shows scanned files and the generated JSON is seemingly populated correctly. The Nut console sees a connection but does nothing more and Tinfoil doesn't list any files.

What could be the problem?

I've found others who never solved this went on to use Caddy, which I'm now attempting to use. I've got that going pretty easily (v1) but don't know how to make that work with Tinfoil. Alternatively, if you'd care to share how you made Caddy work in Nut's place I'm all ears.

Are you using the "New Games/DLC/Updates" lists on the left or going to usb:// or usbfs:// in the file browser? usbfs:// only lists files that are in the same directory as Nut from what I hear. usb:// and the "New" tabs list whatever is added to the list in the Nut GUI.

/api/directoryList outputs:
{"dirs": [{"name": "."}, {"name": "C"}, {"name": "E"}, {"name": "F"}, {"name": "G"}, {"name": "J"}, {"name": "K"}, {"name": "M"}, {"name": "N"}, {"name": "O"}, {"name": "P"}, {"name": "S"}, {"name": "T"}, {"name": "U"}, {"name": "V"}, {"name": "W"}, {"name": "X"}, {"name": "Y"}], "files": []}

I've been having more luck with Caddy. Tinfoil can access its contents fine except doesn't pick up the listed filesizes. Any idea how I might fix that? Could I perhaps use Nut to generate an appropriate file that Caddy could host and Tinfoil could then read for filesizes?

did you set the address in tinfoil? select file browser/usb then press X and set the address and protocol that appears in nut once connected you set folder destination in nut click scan then you should be able to see game files

    Switch 2, my bitch.
  • UltraHurricane @ UltraHurricane:
    the Steam Deck is pretty powerful, but it's still based on 2020 era x86 laptop hardware only gets about 1.9 teraflops, the Switch 2 is estimated to be 3.9 teraflops, which pretty much makes it a portable Series S if you think about it
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    @K3Nv3,
    Switch 1 could run Sw2 games lmao
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    Yes but at lower optimized settings a SteamDeck could probably run switch 2

    @UltraHurricane,

    These days it's almost impossible to be without a wall outlet for more than 3 hours unless you're planning a massive travel then you got decent power banks under $60 that can do 100ws now
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    @UltraHurricane,
    honestly, far as portable shit goes - a used or on-sale Lenovo Legion Go is the current and utmost chef's kiss
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    FULL windows machine, with mouse and everything, that just lets you do whatever you want

    I don't take expensive shit outside anyway imagine forgetting to pack your $500 console while being in Europe and you get home in the US

  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    another thing to consider @$450 is just a budget PC build w/ used h/w because that absolutely will shit on Sw2
  • UltraHurricane @ UltraHurricane:
    @Skv0ra i heard that's pretty nice, i have a OLED Steam Deck myself, and while i love it to pieces, it's not that great for long travels or casual party games

  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    @Ken - funny enough reason i GOT Sw1. $175 (to me) thing to bring to play shit @ parties and whatnot, and if something happens to it - it's cheaper than a spilled beer on my $1200 laptop
