If the energy produced is greater than the energy used, then where does the extra energy come from?

fusion pretty much creates a mini sun so imagine having the energy of the sun at your disposal there would be nothing it couldn't power!

Contrary to fission, the Fusion can be stopped instantly. The used and produced elements are not radioactive (Helium, Deuterium), when Fission elements are (uranium, plutonium).
The energy released by the Fusion is 3x more the one produced with Fission.

I didn't know the laser technology.
I know only the magnetic fusion from Tokamak.


One of the biggest Tokamak is ITER (in south of France), still in construction.
It's an international reactor, and will (should) start experiment near 2020-2026

The current record of plasma production is 6min 30sec, by another French tokamak.

i do remember discovery showing that plants produce energy using sunlight and water. they needed the plants and their chlorophyll to have the sunlight produce the energy from water.

they said the speed of the reaction was slow and they needed a catalyst and if i am not mistaken it was platinum which is obviously very expensive for large scale.

now i think they are using lasers to simulate the sunlight in case of anything.

Don't worry. Nuclear fusion is 100% safe.
You see, the problem with fission is that is i very hard to contain and stop the reaction. It's the opposite for fusion. If there is equipment failure during fusion, the reaction will simply cease instantly because there is nothing to make it go on. It's the reason why it's so difficult to achieve. And there are absolutely no radioactive materials that are involved.

Good news, now I hope people will abandon the nonsensical notions of solar and wind energy which suck and will never be feasible. If we put all the money that we waste on those dead end technologies on fusion we actually have a chance at real green energy in the next 20 to 30 years.

Wind turbines are an eye sore and they are poping up everywhere. It would be nice to see the end of them.

This is nuclear physics, you need to add Einstein equation E=MC^2, i think the energy comes off the neutron from deuterium when it fuses with H2O, as the neutron becomes free its highly unstable and it disintegrates into nothingness leaving behind lots of energy! this is a mass balance where In does not equal Out if you know what that means

It won't fuse with the whole deuterium won't fuse with H2O on a whole, thats just crazy! it most likely fuses to a hydrogen on the H2O molecule to make helium somewhere

I might be wrong, maybe the neutron doesn't dissapear into nothingnes, i think it decays into a proton and losses a little mass into energy in the process
