Hello, I was wondering if NTR was available on 11.9. In looking for the answer, I always seem to find a lot about installing it for 11.8, but haven't seen much about 11.9. I also read that the developer is no longer working on it, so this makes me concerned it is not compatible with 11.9.

Also, is NTR risky at all, in terms of bricking? I realize that bricks are incredibly rare on the 3DS, but I have never installed NTR and just wanted to make sure all is okay. I do have a NAND backup in case too.

Thanks for any info

Nothing significant changed between 11.8 and 11.9, so NTR still works just fine. The ORIGINAL one was discontinued, as it was replaced by NTR Selector (which still gets updated). NTR is not risky whatsoever, you never run a risk of "bricking" unless you do something that affects the CTRNAND, so basically anything done AFTER the system boots can't mess up the NAND to cause bricking as modifications to it are only possible before the system loads the firmware (so things like Chainloader homebrews are the only ones that can cause bricks). Just think of NTR as simply yet another game, you install, load it up, then it stays open even when you switch to another game and acts as a sort of overlay (not exactly but easier to understand this way) allowing you to use cheats, view the memory, etc..

Excellent info, thank you very much! Makes me feel so much better. Gotta love the general stability of a CFW 3DS

Thing about CFW is that it lets you create backups so even if you do somehow brick, you can pretty much undo it easily by restoring a backup of your NAND:P Use GM9 to dump it every 2-3 months if you change a lot of stuff around and you are safe.
