Hacking NSMBW as a safe offline FW updater to 4.1

Here is what I am trying to accomplish:

Virgin Wii on firmware 3.4
1. bannerbomb
2. cIOS249
3. preloader
4. Neogamma
5. use NSMBW and Neogamma to load the system update contained on the NSMBW disk/iso, safely upgrading to FW 4.1

anyone know how to do this? steps 1-4 are easy enough, but i dont know how to get get neogamma to NOT skip the update. the game plays fine with neogamma but just goes straight into the game, skipping the update. This would is great under normal circumstances, but I am looking for all the advantages of a simple offline firmware updater, and this seems like a good method.

if u look for the simplistic mod there is an offline method, i did it to get me to 4.2
