Nook to Kindle Format

I received a Barnes and Noble Gift Card from work a week ago. I proceeded to use this to purchase an ebook from them. However my e-reader of choice is a Kindle, not Barnes and Noble's Nook.

Anyways I've done a fair amount of research and it seems the only way to remove the Barnes and Noble DRM is via programs which first ask for your B&N username and password......which obviously isn't something I'm going to do.

I'm curious if there are any other methods to remove the B&N DRM. By the way I did do a google search and the older methods are no longer effective as B&N changed their DRM process.

Why in the world would people trust a third party company with their B&N login info? Seems like a terribly risky proposition.

Because its the only option, there is currently no other way to do it. Lots of people have the same issue with it you do and decide against it. But the choice is do it and use the book on your Kindle or don't and you can't. As for whether it is actually safe, I really don't know. Assuming the software you are talking about is calibre, it is a well regarded, well known software that has been around a long time.

I don't know of it can be done with Nook ebooks but i remember reading a while back that Calibre(ebook library manager) with the help of the calibre dedrm plug in can remove drm. I've never done it or even tried to or even know if it can remove the drm from nook books, but I hope this helps

Epubor can usually remove the DRM without your account info being needed. Only if it fails in any of the books do you then have the option to send your info to the developers, so that they can generate a hash for you to use.

Obviously, I’d avoid that step, but thankfully it is just optional and avoidable. So it’s worth a shot for the books you have.
