I have a PSP-3001 (Gran Turismo special edition) and I want to put CFW on it. It's running 6.60, if that helps. I'm looking into ProCFW, but I'd like to get your opinions. So:
1. What would be the best CFW for a 6.60 PSP-3001? Please give reasons too.
2. What are the chances of CFW bricking my PSP?
3. Is it worth the risk of bricking?
4. Can you uninstall CFW? Or, more specifically, light CFW?
5. What would the process be to unbrick it if I bricked it?
6. If I ever try to sell my PSP to say, GameStop or whatever, will they buy it if it has CFW?
Thanks for your help!

1.6.60 Pro-C
2.none (if you dont do anything stupid)
3.yes
4.yes
5.none - if you brick you are screwed
6.probably not, but you can uninstall it

You can't use CIPL on a 3000, read the sticky. If you're on 6.60 you'll want to use the downgrade method in the sticky yo get to 6.20 and run that, then you can use 6.20's permanent patch.

Anyways to uninstall you run the patch installer and choose to uninstall, then you run the PRO installer and choose to uninstall.

Gamestop won't sift through internal flash memory. If you're running the temp 6.60 CFW then just turning it fully off will be a sufficient step to be able to sell it as from a full power up the PSP will boot into OFW. (and formatting the memory stick if you're including that too).

Sorry that I ask so many questions, but what kind of hacking-related things are you talking about?
Edit: Also, would I have to uninstall to run an OFW update?

Hacking-related things, such as moving to a different CFW. I would recommend applying the 6.20 Pro-C update, instead of the 6.60...considering there really isn't much of a difference between the 6.20 and 6.60 OFW versions, anyway. And, to be fair, it's an annoyance, for me anyway, to have to re-execute the 'Fast Recovery', every boot up > n

i use 6.60 pro-c for cfw and i had no problems, but make sure to read about the notes on the download since they can offer good help.the cfw is easy to install and uninstall and use and it will really open up more options for your psp.

I have a question too.
Is there any way to add more directories, or at least put some homebrews under "extra" and not "games"?
You can add folders under your games menu with a plugin.

You'll want Game Categories Lite v1.5 R3.

I was also wondering, since I haven't done much with plugins.. Is there an in-game plugin menu? I only have the screen capture one, and it seems like it just runs that one.

Thanks.

It depends on the plugins whether they have in-game menus or not, but if you're looking for some sort of toolbox, cheat plugins like CMFusion/TempAR usually have a few utilities (like text reading and screenshot functions) and have in-game menus.

I meant like to decide which plugin to use, while in-game.

Plugins are loaded during the system switch (VSH/GAME/POPS), so the closest you'll get is a per-game plugin-setting plugin. I don't know of any offhand.
