My friend's copy of the Skylanders game that uses the figures and base won't work properly for her. When they try to run it off the disk, it says they need to update their system menu, but they already have 4.3. Has anyone heard of this? Is there a good fix?

I've come across this a couple of times; all I do is accept it and then hold the power button down until the Wii shuts off. Then it'll let me play the game when I turn it back on.

Well, in case anyone else encounters this, I just let it run the update/remove the homebrew, reinstalled it, and now it works fine off the disk.

And now it came back! :hateit:Guess I'll mess around with the usb loader. I tried a program, I think it's called Priiloader, that offers to do all kinds of cool stuff like blocking disk update prompts but I must be stupid because I couldn't make it remember settings I picked.

Hey fellas, it's me again. Thank you for your previous help with my softmod, which was successful. Unfortunately I'm having yet another problem with my Wii. Here's the scoop:

My Wii won't load any games, be it from a USB, SD card, or official Nintendo disk. It's very distressing! :hateit:

Most importantly, there's a strange error occurring with my USB Loader:
-I'm using the USBLoader GX, which was installed today,

-The usb has been formatted to 'NTFS' (or something similar),

-The game file has been converted from an ISO file to a WBFS file,

-When I use the LoaderGX the game opens to the main start screen (as per every other game...I hope you know which screen I'm talking about), appears to load after I initiate it, then returns to the Wii Homescreen after a few seconds, apparently as a default manouver,

-When I try to use an earlier loader program, the program states that the following error: "Wbfs error: hd run sector doesn't match. ERROR: opening SL2P01,"

-A blank disc was inserted into the Wii during the time of this boondoggle

-This Wii was running downloaded games successfully with a previous softmod. I recently re-modded my wii to educate

Please help me put an end to all of this madness! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi.
I bought this christmas the disney infinity game for a hacked wii 4.3e.
When lauching the game, after the "plug the infinity base" screen, the screen comes black and can`t play the game.
I`ve tried different configs on the game menu and others ios, but nothing.
If anyone can help, i appreciate!
Thanks and happy new year... ;)

On the bottom of the settings screen there's an option something like "save settings" that's easy to miss. ;)
If that doesn't do the trick, not sure what will.

ok back again, I was able to get usb loader working. however none of my GC games are detected. what am I doing wrong here, I am using usbloaderGX & dios mios 2.10 installed. I also have it setup with a games folder and sub folders, for example: games/name of game[game id]/game.iso

I don't have it on a seperate partition. I don't know if that's important or required because I have the wbfs (think that's what its called) on the fat32 hdd there as well.

what am I doing wrong? what do I need to do so that usbloader is detecting the gc games

At the top of GX, the 3rd or 4th box, click it, check the GC games box, hit OK. That's likely it based on your HDD's setup.

thx, so I have the hdd formatted to fat32. All the boxes were already checked in that menu as you stated. Nothing shows up. My wii backups show up fine, none of the gc games show up even when I only have GameCube checked only. I have GC games setup in a seperate folder called "games". in it i have each backup of mines in a folder in itself with the name of the game & game id then inside that folder is game.iso.

Do i have to reformat it again? and do something differently? I'd hate to have to redo all the games again but if it's what I gotta do then I'll do it. let me know thx

games were working, now go to black screen paper mario etc?

But even if your drive is fat32 formatted it should be formatted with 32k clusters (if it's not formatted with 32k clusters, I'm not sure if that will keep the games from showing up though).
Also, did you set the HDD/partition as "active"?
And make sure your USBLGX version supports GC loading.

must be an out of date version of usbloadergx, fiddled around with wiiflow & they seem to detect all my gc backups, my version of usbloader must be old. I'll have to check if it is, and update if i need to. Would you by any chance know if there is a way to exit gamecube games to the menu of wiiflow without resetting the wii? If i can't get usbloader gx to work I may just use wiiflow for just gc games.

Haven't used Wiiflow in years... But, there must be somewhere in the settings to enable it as it's something built in to DM, not loaders AFAIK. When in GX, you can enable (padhook??) and while playing a GC game, I think it's R+L+B to reset (if not B, it's start... I haven't played GC games in a while).
I really don't know from what version GX supported GC games but just get the most recent one, r1218 (it has a lot of nice settings/options too).

Hi I bought a modded Wii for my sons and one of the boys updated it. After this is wouldn't read the HDD at all and my USB loader would not work. So after some research I found out how to remod the wii using letterbomb. Ok so I did this and reinstalled Homebrew and Bootmii. I then used the existing SD card and reloaded my WAD files. I have not yet activated priiloader and would like some advice please. If the wii was 4.1 and updated now to 4.3 will the existing priiloader files work? If so do I just click on the priiloader app found in the Home Brew channel? Is there anything else I should install that is necessary. The boys are currently able to play the games on the HDD.

Had a quick question, looking to get a 2nd wii for our cabin, but wanted to retain the ability to play from the USB drive. Found a black wii of craigslist (has gamecube controller ports and memory card (is there a way to determine if bootmii can be installed as boot2 without actually modding the system or running an exploit (similar to 3DS serial's?)

I think that only the first wiis were boot2 compatible...
but you could check its serial number. There are some lists like this one on the net showing which wiis are boot2 compatible.

But I don't get your doubt very well ...are you trying to instal bootmii in boot2 to not lose the ability to play from the USB? Cause that's not how it works ...installing bootmii as IOS will allow you to use your usb ports as well (you'll only have differences about nand backup, I think ...not game playability).

Should of explained myself better, typing on a phone sucks.

In any case, I think I found the answer to my question, the boot1 vuln was fixed in 2008, and black wii's never made it to the US until 2010 apparently, so there's a good chance none of them can be installed as boot2. I understand they all run the same. I just like having complete brick protection (had to use it once on a friend's unit and it was a life saver). My old Wii was a 2006 launch unit. Looks like I should get a old white one if I'm looking to keep boot2.

If that's what you want, yes. Verify the serial number of a early wii and go with it.
