I am trying to make Metroid The Other M work on my US Wii with firmware 4.0 and I have a Wii Mod Chip as well. When I put in the BIOSHOCK patched version the disc doesnt even recognize in the disc manager.do I need a certain file to make this work? Which version of this game is confirmed working? Thanks

Another question I would like to ask concerns Sonic 4 for VC.

I installed the .wad and it appears in my system menu, but when I press the game and try to start it, my screen goes black.
Does anyone else have the same problem?

I'm running 4.1E.

sounds like you do not have the required ios installed (not sure what one you'll need though) or your wad could be out of region, if so use the pal version (if there is one) or wanins nand loader injector and force pal

hope this helps

Thanks for your quick reply!

I installed two wads, one Region Free and the other NTSC which I then converted to free using Freethewads, so I don't think the region is the issue in my case.

I suppose you're right about the ios. I'm having trouble finding out which one I need myself.

I'll just do a little more reseach and hopefully find the answer! Thanks again.

How do USB Loaders achieve launching games, when the user obviously has a very outdated System Menu Version, and thus most likely outdated IOS as well.
My 3.4U CFG Launcher v60 was launching Kirby's Epic Yarn. How can this be? Please someone explain this to me.
They load the game with the cIOS you have installed
Since only one IOS can run at a time, it doesn't matter how old the rest is.

Thank you. Clears up alot.

so, i heard that Hermes's cIOS v5 was compatible with RawkSD... in what order should i go around doing that?

Sorry if this has been asked before - but I am trying to find out if it is possible to copy VC games from one Wii and install them on another?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It is possible, only if the Wii is hacked. You must install fakesigned system IOS in order to load VC game from SD.

You want Wad Creator

Use that with a wad manager like MMM to install it to the other wii.

I think you can also use the wii backup disc (pink fish) to give give ownership of the game from one wii to another, so you can download it from the shop channel.

Thanks! I will try the Wad creator. My Wii is already modded and I use backup loaders.

I have one additional question though, when installing a Wad with Wad Manager 1.7, it asks what IOS to use and by default, I think it is set to 249. What IOS should I use to install a VC wad?

Thanks again.

bluedump is better than wad creator, depending on your needs, u can either use normal blue dump v3 or the fakesigning version of bluedump v3

u can install wads using any cIOS, so 249 or 250 should work fine

FYI, u should use YAWMM or MMM to install wads as they offer extra brick protection whereas Wad Manager v1.7 does not (for example, it will not permit u to install or uninstall files that are guaranteed to brick you)

Thanks! Xflak. I looked Bluedump on filetrip and on GBAtemp and found some links but they are all broken? Can you please tell me where I can find the latest fakesigned version?

I have MMM - will use that instead of Wad Manager.

Thanks!

which app are you using to install WADs? If you're using MMM, change the IOS to IOS236 then proceed to install the WADs.

I use MMM, but don't know what's wrong... I installed wad's before and never get this error (-2011)!!!

The wad I try to install is a WiiWare game... to the same region of my Wii(U).

Thanks!!!

I will try IOS236....

I just used MMM to update all of my IOS... now i can't install any CIOS or use ios patchers like RawkSD's.
What did i do wrong?

read the stickied guides, i recommend modmii!

i DID have several cios installed, ciosxv19 and hermes's 5.1. I just restored a NAND backup and followed modmii's guide and... everything works right.

Quick question: I modded my Wii accidentally to 4.3, but it quite happy with it. I got everything up and working but USB Loader GX apparently doesn't work with 4.3, so I had to use Neogamma. The problem is, I'm trying to figure out how to get the WiiWare games on there, via the miniSD, but everytime I go into HBC, there's nothing there. I've attempted to download an app to put in there, but it's just a blank button. I'm dumbfounded by this, and willing to admit I'm a noob, but I honestly don't understand anything about this.

My question is, where do I go exactly to configure the IOS's in order to make that work, or at least install the WADs? I can't figure out how to get to the Wad Manager, even though I downloaded one for the HBC.

Now I'm confusing myself. Hope someone can make sense of my muddled noobishness.

I'm kinda stuck on the same thing, actually. I was able to get WAD Manager to run, but after selecting IOS249, it just disconnects from the Wii Remote and does nothing. Not sure how to proceed past that.
