you're the best

bootmii cant be installed to sd, its boot2 or ios, boot2 gives brick protection, and ios far less.

the option prepare sd card is for making the bootmii files on you sd card, which will be used when booting bootmii. without these files, the booting will be the same as before.

and now my noob question (not very noob, but still a question)
is it possible to controll the sensor bar using homebrew?

How can I update my Wii from 3.2u to 4.0u with following function? FYI I have Wiikey.

-Run Trucha signed discs
-Boot illegal VC/Wiiware games from SD

Thanks.

What is CIOS Rev13. Is this custom IOS based on the official 4.0 update from Nintendo and does it have all the required IOS to play the latest wii games?

I am trying to get VC and WiiWare content to play on my Wii using the Wad Installer. If there is a better way to do that please enlighten me as I am not so up to date on this stuff.

Here is my information:

-My Wii has a WiiKey as it's Mod Device.
-I am on 3.4u. I believe I got this from upgrading the system with Wii Music (begining to think this was the biggest mistake of my life)
-I am using a NON-scrubbed burnt copy of Twilight Princess.
-It is a Hack0 version.
-Everything works fine until I get to the first reset part. Here is what the systems says:

Mounting SD card... OK!
Opening directory "wad"... OK!
opening "TITLE.WAD"... OK!
Installing WAD...
Installing ticket (WADI)... Error! (ret = -2011)

Error: Could not install WAD! (ret = -2001)

My SD card (2GB Kingston regular SD) looks like this...

Root:
private>wii>title>rzde rzdj rzdp>(in the rzde) data.bin
wad>title.wad
boot.elf

I am using the twilight hack v0.1 beta 2.

the boot.elf file is from WAD_Installer_v2.1.zip. It is a renamed "wad-installer.elf" to boot.elf.

the title.wad file is from Wad-Installer_v2.1.rar. It is a renamed "Wad-Installer_v2.1.wad" to title.wad file.

I am sure there is something I am totally missing but I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks in advance.

Oh and I do not have any homebrew channel etc... installed. Other than the Wiikey the upgrade to 3.4u and a japanese set of channels from Smash Bros the system is pretty much the same as it was bought.

MOTION+ QUESTIONS?

Firstly should the top of the motion+ (the silver connector) be a little loose?

Secondly how do you know its working?

Third , i have virtua tennis 09 and grandslam tennis but when i try to watch the M+ video on either games it resets the wii ,does it happen on dvd or is it just a usb thing? OR because im on system 3.2 / rev 12 could this be the problem?

Lastly when playing either of these games i don't notice a difference when the M+ is plugged in or out and nothing comes up on screen to say , should i notice quite a deiiference or is my M+ unit broken or i require some updates?

Thanks to any replys in advance :-)

Cios rev13 is the newest revision of the Cios module, the CIOS's are used for running backups, usb loaders, and for installing wads.
the CIOS is based on a older IOS version, because it contains more bugs.
and yes, it will run all the latest wii games, if you are using a good loader.

you can also install CIOSCORP, which let you boot backups from the disc channel, but for that information you can better go to softmii.org

first, updating was no mistake, there are a lot of guides you can follow to downgrade back to 3.2, or update to 4.0

instead of booting wad installer, you can better download the hackmii installer, http://bootmii.org/download/

then you can install the homebrew channel, which will boot your homebrew much quicker.

then, run the CIOS installer, http://www.teknoconsolas.es/blog/waninkoko...om-ios38-rev-13

after that, try wad manager 1.4
http://www.teknoconsolas.es/blog/waninkoko/wad-manager-v14

that will work...

Thanks for the help so far. I got the homebrew channel installed. Now i downloaded the CIOS from that link, IOS38 Rev 13 and 13b.

I am not sure if I am doing it right but the only way I was able to get anywhere was run the Twilight hack again renaming the "cIOS38_rev13-Installer.dol" to boot.dol.

This brings me to the Custom IOS Installer 2.0 screen.

It asks me to select IOS version to use. I didnt change it from the default IOS36. I thought IOS38 would be what I should change it to but it doesnt have that as an option.

When I go through the prompts this is what it says:

Mounting SD card... OK!
Reading "IOS38-64-v3610.wad", please wait...
ERROR! (ret = -1)

Am I doing something wrong still?

Thanks in advance and sorry for being such a noob on this stuff.

I do not know the answer to the first two questions, but for the second and third.
When you try to watch the WM+ video the games reloads an IOS which is a function that is not very common in games and is not supported by the USB loader, making it crash. There might be an IOS reloading block in cIOS rev14. I have not used WM+ so I dont know what the difference is like but I do know that it does not require any additional updates or IOS, it should work right out of the box

I recently tried out some wiiware wads. i used wad manager 1.4 to install them. i moved the channels to my sd card, where i found out that they won't work.

i learned that they can't be played or loaded from the sd card (only system memory, i'm hoping for that feature to be added), but the issue is that when i tried to move them back to uninstall them, they wouldn't get transferred. so i just deleted them from my sd card.

the question is whether i have to run anything to make sure they're fully gone. there aren't any ghost channels or anything like that.

ntsc U wii, menu 4.0
serial: LU33--------

noob question here:

i'm using a soft modded wii (ntsc-u). I use backup loader to run backups. I was recently using maxell dvd-r to run my backups, and while many games loaded, they got kinda choppy and some games would give a dvd read error midway through playing all the time. So after reading about verbatim dvd-r being the best, i bought a spindle of them and have tried using them, and the games won't even load up on them. All of them give the dvd read error (324).

Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?

i've tried 3x, 4x and 8x so far with no luck.

I'm assuming the booktype is set to DVD-R , I'm using imgburn and the default settings. Where do I check for that?
