ok, so i ma looking for non-traditional puzzle games, so please DO NOT recommend tetris or anythign too similar to that..

i mean games that dont conform to the usual "move-shapes-to-create-lines" or block clearing type activity that i seem to see alot of in this sort of thing. maybe things with a bit of strategy involved, like chess, but not that obvious or traditional.
 
Try Professor Layton and the Curious Village? You play as some bloke hired to solve a mystery and you need to solve puzzles to get through the story. There are 135 puzzles in the game, I think.
