Hacking No cheats, no soft reset but games keep freezing

I didn't enable the cheats and soft resets but my games freezes all the time. before start up , after the opening screens, in the middle of a battle, in the middle of saving etc. I've tried all kinds games both old and new, I wanted to try and change the microSD but couln't afford another one. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my R4 (not clone) ? The only games it didn't seem to freeze that often was japanese games lile Code Geass and Soul Eater. Someone HELP please.

Edit: Thrice now. Same problem. Can anyone just tell me is the problem with my memory card or the R4? That way I know what to change when I get enough money for either of them.

Do you trim your files?

Yes and no. Some I trimmed, some I didn't. Doesn't matter, both of them freezes all the time too.

do older games which have problems ironed out work fine, like mario kart? if you need a new msd you can get a 2gb japanese kingston off dealextreme for 7 bucks. is your msd an off brand? is it old? do you write/read from it a lot?

I've never tried playing mario cart yet but I will try afterward. My Msd is Sandisk 2Gb, not sure what model or speed it is though. As for the age I just bought it 3 weeks ago but it could have been in the shop for years so I'm not very sure either. And no I don't read/write on it alot, just occasionally .

that answers most of the questions. that msd is fine, one of the better ones. i would say the issue is with the games themselves at this point. try to debug by running older roms which have never had issues or had fixes for them. also double check your dumps and make sure they are verified. don't trim to do anything to the roms for now...

As for games, I tried playing a whole lot of games from different sources but all of them freezes.
