Hi everyone, whenever I try to run of GameCube iso off Nintendont, it works for a bit then it shuts down. I have memcard emulation turned on and have a DualShock 4 plugged.

The title says wii but I’m on wiiu, sorry about that

Edit: I think the Wiiu dies if the console loses connection the the controller, as it crashed before I even loaded into a game when I wiggled the connection.

if nintendont shuts down a console can mean 2 or 3 things

1 bad files, sometimes the files of controller.ini get corrupted so delete them from sd card or even ninconfig.bin.
2 try and start nintendont without dualshock 4 plugged and see if it starts.

3 bad save files sometimes when creating memory card saves a bad file is created instead check any 0kb files on the saves folder and delete them or start nintendont with memory card turned to off to check if its this issue.

it shouldn't crash if it looses sync. this happens with the pro controller, and gets synced with a press of say the A button. aside from that, I have no idea why it would crash on you.

I plugged it into the second port instead of the first and that worked for about a day. Nintendont always starts, but it just crashes at random times, so I don’t think it’s the controller being plugged in at the start of the game, I also already checked for bad saves first, and I don’t have any, I’ll be sure to download new controller.ini files and see if that fixes the issue

take a picture of your nintendont settings.

I’ve had wiiu gamepad on slot 1 when it crashed, just changed it recently, doubt that did anything though

the only thing i can think off its your usb cable is damaged and its constantly sending connected unconnected messages to nintendont so fast that it makes nintendont crash did you tried with another controller that doesnt use that cable? does it still happen with wiiu gamped? wiiuprocontroller? another usb controller?

haven't really tested other controllers, and I'm too dumb/lazy to figure out how to do the Wii u gamepad injection. However, I think the safest assumption is that the cable or controller port is damaged somehow, the connection isn't very tight and I noticed it loses connection very easily, I'm gonna try to find a different cable and get back to you. I appreciate you helping and providing your feedback!

you need the nintendont file be on the correct name and place

sd:apps/nintendont/boot.dol

make sure your path is exactly this.
My nintendont folder has N capitalized and my computer refuses to let me change it to lowercase, so I made a new folder with a lowercase name and just copy and pasted the files there, I’ll let you know if it works or not

It shouldn't be case sensitive. But for future reference, you can just change the name to something else first.

It worked. However when I first booted it up, I kid you not it looked straight out of a 2013 creepy pasta, I didn’t get any pictures or footage but everything looked super corrupted, and the background was pure black, I realized it was showing me the list of my games so I pressed on where I remembered sunshine being and to my surprise it loaded up the game. The second time I booted up the nintendont forwarder it was perfectly with no issues. Thank you for the help, I really appreciate it!

I see, thank you for that, after making the new folder, it ended up working.

lol probably an issue with the gpu or something some very very rare bug.

Actually I think it was because of me having two nintendont folders, I deleted the nintendont folder with the capital N and it never happened again, as it happened pretty frequently on boot up, but only to the forwarder and not the one on the vwii homebrew menu before I deleted it.
Also I just wanted to say thank you for helping me with everything, I really appreciate it, being able to use the gamepad let me play melee with my parents, so that’s pretty cool.
