I dont even have a problem with the not perfect 16:9 patch, its still much better than the wii version.

Whereas I prefer the Wii version. Same goes for Metroid Prime Trilogy and the Pikmin series. Yes, I did play Metroid Prime and Pikmin for GameCube first but I think the point and shoot/throw aspect of the Wii makes the game better/easier to play.

One of the force widescreen options in Swiss will force 16:9 but not stretch the HUD/in game text. I forget which option it is off the top of my head though. So it is in fact possible to do through patches.

Someone said USB Loader GX no longer work with nintendont past version 3.305.

It's all lies, it works fine with latest revision.

Don´t mislead others with your statement as you don´t have full knowledge about other users´ setup (and there are a lot of possible setups to begin with). With so many changes on the mosts recent revisions is not rare for particular issues to arise. In my case, autoboot has shown some problems on the latest revisions as i can´t no longer access any nintendont game from an usb loader while autoboot is enabled, the app gets stuck. If i disable autoboot and manually select the game it no longer freezes. Perhaps there´s a conflict with the config files, but i can´t point out exactly where´s the problem.

I noticed in the compatability list that a lot of people are reporting that games work in widescreen when they do but only kind of.

For example in the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess text, speech boxes and most 2D elements in general are stretched horribly and in cutscene when someone walks off screen they freeze mid animation if they go beyond the border originally set for 4:3.

These are the exact same issues DM had with the game in widescreen, is it fixable?

Most wide screen HACKS just unhide the off screen hidden stuffs in game.
Why would you think a game would update off screen stuffs as if its normal on screen? If they do, great. If they dont, you can't blame them.

stuff like that is not fixable unless you take the time to analyze and debug things such as graphics and animation data and then properly rewrite them to be 16:9 and inject them into a new iso file.

Here are a few crappy pics of Swiss forcing proper widescreen. For the nonbelievers.

Sorry for the huge pics. I dont know what spoiler tags are here. :/

Hit the "reply" button (but don't send the post, just observe) and check the spoiler structure for yourself. It's a left bracket, "spoiler" (=whatever you want if you want custom wording) right bracket, and then to end it it's left bracket, forwardslash, "spoiler", right bracket

Also is it just me or do the 3D models look stretched to fit the widescreen??

Nor is the HUD or the map... In other words, literally all the patch affects is sprites and probably text

Which is what Nintendont needs.
It seems to me that Swiss could benefit from Nintendont's 3D space patch and Nintendont could benefit from Swiss' sprite patch.

I admit that Link looks stretched, but Epona and Ilia don't. So maybe it just seems stretched because we're looking a bit from above. I tested the widescreen patch with TP a while ago and the 3D models seemed fine.

I think you're right! When you say you tested the widescreen patch did you mean on Swiss?

Hi there,

Does anyone know why GC games tend to freeze on my original Wii when playing through Nintendont, but work normal through my Wii U? Same HD used

so you are on 313 and it does this? if so this is what we were looking for, fix has a theory it depends on the console for ppl getting those random freezes, do you have any idea if you have some setting ON on the wii settings that isnt on the wiiu vwii settings?

try changing settings around or even video cables if you use component and such, its for sure a console issue we just have no idea what the setting that is affecting this is.

Most games were designed with the same SDK and so it is definitely possible. But if you think it is easy then why don't you take the swiss source code and merge with Nintendont. It is always way easier to say than done.
Why would you think the dev would throw away his priority list and take on this minor issue?

I don't see why everyone keeps saying having correct aspect ratios is minor. If games don't look right that would be detrimental to anyone's enjoyment of a game, right?
That being said, nobody said anything about throwing away the dev's priority list. Just add the problem to it and let us know!

4:3 is the correct aspect ratio for most GC games.
