So there's absolutely no noticeable improvement when using official Nintendo component cables vs 3rd party?
I seriously doubt it. There really shouldn't be. But even if there is, I'd have absolutely no reservations about recommending third party component over first party composite if those are the options available.

I have a cheap component cable from eBay and the official Nintendo one, the eBay one has wrong color (brighter blacks, more artifacts).

I have one from Gamestop or something to that effect I believe, works just fine, you don't want to go too cheap, but getting official ones isn't worth it.

Maybe it's just that component cable? I'm sure that there are good and bad 3rd party component cables.

Like I said above in response to his comment :P There are plenty of good 3rd party cables, the very idea that people have to get official Nintendo or otherwise "high-end" HDMI or component cables is utterly false.

Yes but there is a difference, HDMI is a standard format and Nintendo uses their proprietary format for the cables. So HDMI Wise there is no difference between cheap and expensive one and in Nintendo maybe there is difference but like the other members stated they are the same (with some exceptions of course)

Haven't had issue with component from other sources. People like to tell others to get Nintendo brand cables, the ones I have, Nintendo and 3rd party, work perfectly. The other brand I have is actually called Gigaware.

It's just a custom connector shape with copper leads in it. There's nothing difficult to figure out about it. "Proprietary format" makes it sound like there's some complicated signal processing to reverse engineer or something. :) Really there are just bad Wii component cables just like there are bad USB cables, bad HDMI cables, and bad regular (non-Wii) component cables. Manufacturers of these cables all know precisely how to make them. Afew of them just suck at it. ;)

[SOLVED: PLUGGED ON WRONG PORT] (Yeah, kill me :p1ng3: )

Hi folks, it's my first time here.

I'm used to using Dios Mios to play my GCN backups but today I decided to try on Nintendont. I followed the steps presented in the OP to get it up and running.

Everything seemed fine as I started testing it by playing Fifa Street 2 and it ran and played perfectly. I use a white GameStop GCN Controller bought back in 2010.

But something started to feel odd when I booted Wind Waker and the controller didn't work. As I kept booting the other games, I realized that except for Fifa Street 2, NONE of the games recognize the controller. And that expands for when playing through Dios Mios AND THROUGH ORIGINAL DISCS!!

So I'm really disapointed now, as something is really wrong and I can't play anything... Has anyone got any error like this before?

Edit: oh, and I forgot to mention that at some point, the reset and shut down combinations stopped working... At first they worked even on the games that did not recognize the controller.

Might also be signs of a failing graphics chip. One of my Wii's has bad artifacting. Most noticeably on gamecube titles. Not terrible on Wii titles.

Well that can't be the case since the Wii U I played it on is brand new, this also never happened with my old Wii which I've had since 2007

I had the graphics chip fail on a brand new Wii once (hooray for warranties!) so it could still be that. I'm inclined to doubt it though.

Hi need help. Nintendont updated from 2.158 to version 2.265. Now USBLoaderGX when running GC games writes '' This Nintendont version does not support games on USB ''. When you start the game through the HBC Nintendont shows a black screen.
PS: Wii 4.2E Softmod

1- For the USB Loader GX error Just download the last revision from Cyan signature
2- Try Again loading games from GX

Thank U. I have read the page and realized that when upgrading from 229 to 230-265, ios55 replaced by ios58. Can be a problem in my IOS58?

Hello, i use an oficial RGB cable, do you know why on my PAL Wii, when i launch a game with Nintendont from USB Loader GX, the Nintendont loading screen has a red tint? When i load NTSC wii games and NTSC gamecube games the same red tint apears. I think it has to do with the PAL consoles, that when is in NTSC mode it cannot output RGB signal,

The RGB cables are the equivalent of Component here in Europe, so they are common.

Can Nintendont be force in loading screen to output in PAL sistem and RGB signal?

No there not RGB-Scart doesn't support progressive scan like component so ntsc 60hz 480p / pal 50hz 576p won't work.
All the scart to hdmi adapters do is upscale and deinterlace 480i / 576i.
The wii also outputs at widescreen 480p 720x480 instead of 640x480 like the gamecube even when you select 4:3, it just stretches the picture differently.
Component also doesn't support 4:3 & 16:9 signal switching like RGB-Scart.
