Can someone confirm that the official Wii U Gamecube adapter doesn't work with this on a Wii U?

I'm trying to use it to no avail. I can get the games to load perfectly fine, but the controllers works none. I downloaded the "controller_Nintendo_Wii_U_GameCube_Adapter.ini" and renamed it to controller.ini and put it in the root of my external (where the game is held) and it's simply not working with the GC controller. If it doesn't work yet, I'll put this project to the side since without the controller, it curbs any nostalgic intent I had to play Sunshine without busting out a CRT.

if i had to guess, you probably have an older version of Nintendont or you didnt enable HID in the options

Well, I'm happy beyond reason with Nintendont. I can finally play Star Fox Adventures off a backup with only a very minimal audio desync during cut scenes. Now, forgive me for n00bing all over the parade with this part, but will we soon see the day where I can select a GameCube game in USB Loader GX and have Nintendont boot straight into the game? Ya know, instead of selecting it in USB Loader GX and then selecting it again in Nintendont?

You need to give more information if you want to even hope the devs will respond. Give specific information, such as what happens, the error given, where the adapter is plugged in, etc. Also tag Howard, he works on controller stuff

There was no error, it simply was not working with the Gamecube controller. The controller was not working.

I fixed it by switching from using the front ports to using the back ones.

enable autoboot

I have two classic controllers pro, but i want one, more. I cant use original GC controllers because i have a wii without GC ports. So i want to buy one of the pdp or hori to use in wii games and in nintendont. I think it will be the pdp because it has anlog triggers. Btw thanks
Neither the PDP or Hori wired fight pads have analog triggers. They're both DIGITAL TRIGGER ONLY, I was fooled bought one and even thought it was analog due to how it felt but it was just springs that were under the triggers. There's threads here on Temp that take the controller apart and give u a detailed showing of all internal components. NO ANALOG TRIGGERS. Best bet to play properly is see if u can get yourself an adapter with original GC controllers or a Wavebird, best wireless remote for GC gaming anyway, after that it's the Wii U pro controller lol.

Cool, thanks for clarifying, MassiveRican :P

Oh ok. I dont have problems ir they are buttons, zl and zr are digital in classic controllers pro. Can i ask you something ? The gamepad is good ? It feels good ? Do you have a vídeo playing nintendont with it ? I dont have enough money to buy aml the stuff to use a GC conteoller, so if it isnt very good, i will buy a cc pro
Thanks

I'm using a NTFS hard drive and I want to keep NTFS part for Wii games, and add a FAT32 partition for my GC games, will that work with out any issues?

Thanks!

Gamepad? As in using the Wii U gamepad as a controller? Cuz u can't, but the PDP comtroller I had felt so light and a bit cheap I didn't really like it. I haven't used the Hori pad yet so I don't know but they usually make high quality stuff so I trust them over PDP due to my experience.

Also MeowTheMouse if your first partition is not the FAT32 partition then no your out of luck. Your first partition on the partition table must be FAT32 and it must be set to Primary in order for Nintendont to work. I have 2 partitions as well but the NTFS partition is second and holds my Wii games and larger movies and whatever the hell else I want, however all homebrew is on the first FAT32 Primary partition, something to keep in mind if u want to have a multiple partition setup. I've heard it's not recommended but I've had this setup for many years now with no problems.

now i just need to get my ps3 controller working. the config file when loading a game says it failed, and using HID test says the config isnt for my dualshock 3 =/
Why not pick up the controller.zip pack made by joostinonline? Nintendont will automatically tell which controller u have plugged in and use the correct controller.ini

yeah i already had his zip file. had the update give it to me, and HID now picks up my controller but still get the error.
i think ill just hold off until i can get a real controller.
So u put it on the root of your device where your games are, in a folder named controllers?

Even then you might have issues as Nintendont doesn't play well when there is multiple partitions.
Multiple partitions no problems, Verbatim 2TB Store n' Save.
