I was referring to the latest revision of Nintendon't, since r80 you get a GameID.raw for each game, and the "result format" is exactly the same raw file you're using. Dolphin's manager simply lets you delete and copy saves and transfer them from one .raw to another .raw
I see so now each game uses its own raw file, meaning what I have to do is make multiple copies of the raw data and each one delete the other saves inside but keep the desired game then rename it, that seems like a lot of work when Memory Card was working just fine and then got broken and never been fixed, plus it'll take up a lot of space on my SD while my Memory Card that I bought back in the days is the 4x one which has 4 times more capacity than the regular one and it's almost full so that's a lot of saves to convert, however if that's the only solution I guess there's no other choice.

Edit: Sorry to bother you but I have another question, you said each game has its own raw file now (which I believe would need a certain title?) but what about games that have multiple save files like Sonic Adventure 2 (score data + chao data) shall I make two raw files for this or just one?

I just made a quick check and I can confirm during my "very little" checking I got more games working that's still listed as broken, so I guess at least since the newer updates the list shall be changed!

I have a question though, does Nintendont support GCReEx format? Not that it's important but just a legit question, also I can once again confirm that 1:1 copies work fine so Devolution users don't need to compress your isos they should work fine!

You can always wait until someday, if ever, physical memory card is supported. 2mb per game (that's the new memory's size) are hardly a problem unless you have what? 1000 games with saves and a 2gb sd? Besides the memory card is created in the device were you store the games, if you have a big enough sd to store many isos, then you won't have problems with the memory's, you'll have 2mb per iso. That's a lot of space indeed... *sarcasm off*

Besides, the new change has allowed many games to save without issues when they didn't work before, so I'm rather happy with the results, and I didn't find it so problematic to do this:

1) Run the game in nintendont with MCEmu enabled, if it works and i can save, the .raw file is created.
2) Repeat 1) for each game until I'm done.
3) Copy all the raw files to the computer and launch dolphin, open the mem manager.
4) Load the .raw with ALL my saves in A, and load one .raw at a time in B, deleting from B and then transfering from A to B.

This way you can filter out the games that don't work so it would be pointless to transfer the saves. And it's better than copying the same file and then renaming it yourself.

PD: If you want an even easier solution to keep using your memory card, then play in a Gamecube, no extra work or compatibility issues there.

Edit: Sorry if I sound rude, it just feels you're being way too picky about unimportant things and even criticizing the amazing job these guys are doing with the development. Just because it doesn't work like you want, you shouldn't treat it like "why did they do that instead of doing it like this", specially if you can't do it yourself.

After watching this project for a while now, I finally decided to give it a try today after realizing how much progress was made after the first initial test build by crediar. Since my wii is set up for use with Dios Mios, installing and running Nintendon't for the first time was really easy. Used Mario Kart Double Dash for a test run, everything worked fine, even creating and then saving to a memory card.

However, I noticed a strange problem for which I couldn't find the source yet. I apologize if this problem is known already and there is an answer for it somewhere. I used the search function, looked at the first post of this thread and also at the wiki section on the google code page, but couldn't find any solution in that process:

After MKDD I went to try with Super Smash Bros. Melee and it froze on the screen forcing progressive scan. I had to power off the console by holding the Wii's power button a few seconds. After that, I went into the homebrew channel to try again. So I loaded up Nintendon't and chose USB, since my games are on the external hard drive. But then Nintendon't complained that it couldn't find a FAT device or the games dir is missing, which is kind of strange, since it worked flawlessly before.

A kind of temporary but really annoying solution I found:

Connecting the drive to the PC and deleting the config file makes it work normal again, but I don't really want to do that every time a game is freezing and I have to power off the console the hard way.

If I return to the HBC with the build-in button combination for GC Controllers, Nintendon't is able to recognize my drive and it's games fine on the next start of the app.

I would be very grateful to anyone who has a possible and better solution than mine or could lead me in the right direction to find one. This is the setup I use for Nintendon't:

- Wii console, black, system menu 4.3E
- Loading from external hard drive, 1 TB, 2 partitions (1st part.: Fat32, 2nd part.: NTFS)
- Games setup identical to DIOS MIOS
- Nintendon't settings: MCEmu on, language: German, all other settings left in their default state

If there is any more info you may need, let me know and I will provide it. Thanks for your help

I see so it shall save on the Hard Drive instead if I run from it (which is what I do now ever since USB support was added) it's still a lot of wasted space but whatever.

1) Run the game in nintendont with MCEmu enabled, if it works and i can save, the .raw file is created.
2) Repeat 1) for each game until I'm done.

Okay this solution is much easier than what I had in mind, I'd imagine it would be easier to do on my laptop rather than the PC.

Okay you didn't have to add that last part :( besides my Gamecube laser wore off and I can't run games on it anymore, that's the main reason I switched to Dios Mios when it came out!

I edited my previous post but to make it clear I'll quote it here:

As I said, I wouldn't consider it neither "wasted space" nor "a lot" of it. It's 2mb per game, I can't even imagine having the HDD so full of isos that their memory card's would fill it up. And I'm sorry that your gamecube isn't working anymore, but that's more of a reason to be grateful that you have a way to play the games instead of being so picky with the details.

any one use this adapter? I want to know if I set controller.ini some wrong or this adapter can't compat Nintendont.
this is my controller.ini

He's probably using it on a WiiU or one of the family edition Wiis, which has no ports for connecting the GameCube Controller by default.

So a standard wii can use the gamecube controller via nintendont without any alterations? Also I'm using USBloaderGX and when on the main menu of GX only the Wii games are shown. How do I get the gamecube game I have to be shown on this listing too?

Yes, an original wii can use a GC controller as usual. I think the fourth icon or so, in the upper bar allows you to filter out what you want to see, there you can choose to show the Gamecube games. But i think you also need to configure the Path for them in the settings.

The gamecube iso is in the games folder. Where do I go in usbloadergx to allow the program to read this folder?

Did you try allowing Gamecube games in the filter I mentioned? If you go to Settings, I think it's the second or third page where you have Custom Paths or something, there you should scroll down and find GC games folder...

Sorry for the vague answer, I'm too lazy to boot up my wii and check exactly, but If you look around a bit you'll find it.

Edit: You might want to check in Loader settings that Gamecube location is set to Auto (I have it that way)

Hmmm well I've checked both loader settings and custom paths and haven't seen anything related to gamecube (other than cheatcodes). Do you have a general idea the names of what needs to be altered in custom paths and loader settings.

If i buy an usb cable extension will work?
My WII is far from me...:yayps3:
faku1810 Thank you!

When you finish the game tell me...;)
I already play some games on Dios Mios and i want to play: Fire Emblem Path Radiance, Tales of Symphonia and Mario Sunshine. Now i have just a Dualshock 3 and dont want to buy a gamecube controller, because of this i choose Nitendon't.
Still waiting my wii2hdmi arrive to start playing.

Since it's just a extension cable, that should not affect the way the USB controller works, as long as it is connected in the proper port, there should be no problem at all.

Memory card are not working when using autoboot as the filename is set in menu.c only after selecting a game.
Can you do it in main.c instead? (or at least fallback to a common name for all games like before)

In Tales of Symphonia (NTSC on PAL Wii, gc pad) there's a problem right at the beginning of the game, at Martel Temple after you beat the two smaller guys and the big guy swinging the flail approaches, he says -Do not get in our way- and you can't close the bubble so you are stuck. If anyone wants to check if it happens to them I uploaded my save right in front of the temple

Yay. I got the memory card to work for fire emblem. For some reason it couldn't create a new file itself. So I had to import the save file from an actual gamecube memory card. I did this using dolphin for PC and the wii homebrew app that rips save file from gamecube memory cards. I forget what it's called.

I know because of what you guys communicate to us and the list of version changes here.
https://code.google.com/p/nintendont/source/list
Very little of our discussion goes on here. It's in a private conversation.
If I'm missing any information where you, greyrogue, or fix have attempted to up compatibility with games that didnt work before the jump to usb, I'd love to know but according to the source page, the only fixes ive seen were to controller settings and to improve memory card emulation. Am I wrong? You didnt really say, moreso than make an offhand comment about me making assumptions and to go back and look at the changes...which i already had or i wouldnt have posted in the first place.
*confused*[/quote]Memory card emulation IS compatibility. It's the only way to save games. If it crashes when trying to save, then the game is barely what you'd consider playable. There's very little point in getting other games running if they won't even save.
