Times change, people change. No sense being hypocritical and flaming anyone when I don't like it. Crediar may have information others do not and honestly, GC is older. I bought a GC for Metroid Prime games and also Zelda Twighlight Princess (kept it for that reason). You can go buy a GC and games/accessories DIRT CHEAP now. There is really no reason to waste time. Crediar was working on (said he was) something else for a month. It is HIS business. Personally, it does not bother me at all.

Oh, source? I GUESSED what you wrote but I "un-followed" him on Twitter and last I checked I saw nothing to indicate he went on to other systems/platforms. PS4 and Xbone are both x86 I believe, easier to dev for (port "stuff" from elsewhere), more power, a LOT more power, and a bigger ownership base. Interesting to see if Nintendon't ends up on those systems. Imagine being able to get good emulation on those platforms. You could basically get any Nintendo title before Wii U. I am not sure those could emulate the Wii U (beyond me to know).

EDIT; For OriginalHampster

Instead of complaining about a guy who was donating his own precious time to create something for free canceling a project, why not do something about it?

If everyone who posted here complaining instead donated $20 to a reward fund for completing a beta and releasing the source code, maybe you might see it get accomplished.

But rather than thank him for putting in hard work to a project that he received nothing in return for, some people criticize him.

All I will say to him is thank you for the hard work you have done. Hopefully something will come of it someday.

In the meantime, you can still play your GC games in Dolphin, on your original gamecube, on Devolution, or wait until Nintendo offers them as virtual console titles for the Wii U.

Dios Mios was better than Devolution IMHO ;)

I would indeed donate towards a completed Nintendont and/or the source code, but the question is would he accept the offer? I could donate ~$40 if so. If he turns it down, I would donate towards anyone who could disassemble the alpha and turn it into usable code.

guys again, he doesn't owe anyone anything, Crediar has proven himself time and again to the HB community, whether he pulls out of developing Nintendont or not, there's no reason to act so upset. He's a man of his word by my standards, he's done everything he said he would when it came to QF and moneys were involved.

There's no reason to flame the man for either taking the time off or even canceling. No one else seems capable or even wants to make something like this for the Wii U and it's his and his code alone so how can anyone make demands that he release it. Again I get disgusted with how this community gets sometimes, get it through your heads people, he's not working for your enjoyment, your not paying him and he owes us NOTHING. Be grateful and STFU that we get anything, even a beta, most of us don't so much lift a finger to help the man code.. bunch of self entitled babies around here.

I would donate towards nintendont too.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Nothing but a cock-tease. Why am I not surprised? No offense, but he really shouldn't tease people with a program with the premise or potential of it being an alternative to Devolution, but no, he decides to pull the plug and not even try. A very peculiar attitude; sorry crediar, but that's just damnable. I mean yeah, people get caught up in personal matter with family, job, etc. crap happens, but this is just weird. I hope someone "accidentally" releases the source code.
Perhaps crediar is just tired of the ungrateful punks who use his hacks. I can think of at least one right now.

Id definitely be willing to donate at least $60 for w completed nintendont, and a hopefully supported nindont on the same level as devolution.

The funny thing is crediar is the same guy who gave people the way to play 95% of GC games perfectly on bc Wii. DIOS MIOS is so good I still marvel at its existence. People should just be eternally thankful for that. Big time.

On the other hand maybe devs shouldn't tease projects in extremely early stages. Still no need for drama.

Oh for sure, Dios Mios is a fantastic program and freaking amazing that he did what he could. Doing what was supposedly impossible in GCN mode (USB loading) is pure awesome :P

And free of charge -- which is by far the most important and often ignored aspect in all of this.

If a complete stranger gave someone a brand new car as a birthday present one year, then proceeded to give that same person an old spare tire the next, I'm pretty sure the point that should be remembered is how that stranger was so generous to give away a new car. For free. Normal people would never complain about getting a spare tire if it came with a brand new car.

With regards to crediar, there's an entitled minority here who feel that he didn't give them enough free stuff -- that he treated them unfairly for not delivering yet another free masterpiece, so they use that to justify their personal attacks and name-calling.

Well boo-fricking-hoo.

They should file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if they don't like it. Oh wait, the BBB only deals with products that are actually paid for...

Nintendon't was more of a proof of concept than anything only launching one game. I would hardly call that a masterpiece. Dios Mios however, was one helluva masterpiece, it did the impossible. He never should have released the alpha build and kept it too himself. In fact, it actually would have been a lot better in the long run if it was never shown to the public. And FYI, complaining about those complaining doesn't make it any better.

Your backtracking would suggest otherwise.
