It is a shame if true, but at least there is Devolution to fall back on

Sadly, projects like this die because the author(s) have too much pride or something to release and share there work openly. Blah blah blah its his project he can do whatever he wants, but all that effort, wasted. I'd say the same about tueidj but at least he makes some sort of attempt to maintain devo.

ahh come on ive been checking this thread since it started... and now he just wants to cancel the project?
i dont want to keep my wii :( just because of gc games...

im not a dev or smth but the main core of nintendont we already have with alpha.... isnt there someone used to the materia who can edit or programm it so we can play other games? it think this shouldnt be so hard... why only zeld is working anyways?

other method would be a workaround with devolution....
im not sure how devolution works but i think u need to put normal gamecube game in wii and register it or something to get a playable wiiu gc game.... maybe somebody can edit the program so we can register backups...

i cant believe these two guys are the only one working on gc games on wiiU.... thats sad...

So I guess it's safe to assume that there wont be a way to play Gamecube games with Audio Streaming and the such without AP protection. At least until someone wants to develop their own Gamecube loader. It's unfortunate, I was really looking forward to this, it's a shame but hopefully someone makes something.

1) look for list of audio streaming GC games
2) look for must-play, cult or classic games
3) how many of them are not also available elsewhere (ps2, xbox, wii re-release)
4) how many of them are hard to find used online
5) no devolution-style controllers support? who cares, stock up on wavebirds

...nothing of value was lost

who's with me? missing something?

Point me to the game/games (that you can't properly play on Dios Mios) you have in mind when you long for Nintendon't/Devolution.

Anything other than Windwaker on a Wii U assuming you don't have access to a bc wii and/or original discs?

Good point.
Was only looking to the bcWii side of things.
Used bcWiis (console only, no accessories) are also dirt cheap, though.

I liked how he was showing progress and talking about it. It is his business though and obviously nobody has control over it. NOTHING paid for, so nothing expected to be delivered. Life goes on with more important things to worry about.

I'm not arguing that at all, but what irks me is the fact it had so much potential. It just saddens me to see so much wasted potential.

Also the fact he didn't directly say it was canceled is a bit obnoxious. Oh well, somehow with the alpha I doubt he was as paranoid as tueidj so perhaps a disassembly will be more feasible.

T'would be a shame if the source code fell into other peoples' hands...not. I thought I had respect for him, but that too went down the shitter.

Yet again, no dev wants your respect, your opinion or anything at all. Why? because they are working on their own time, for free, so you can play videogames. If you really wanted this so badly, try putting money were your mouth is. at least with crediar we know that eventually, he might work on it someday, or he will sell the source code to someone that can use it.

I already lost count of how many times you've been told this.

oh well, it's his choice. in one point, im saddened to see this dropped. on the other hand, he may have a good reason for deciding not to. i don't think it's any of our business so why stress it? it doesn't mean all the hope in the world is lost.

heck, if GC games could be VC for the wii U, that would be awesome. but, there would be the issue of finding a 100% compatible controller for some games that uses triggers.

long story short, someone will eventually go all the way with it, or even Nintendo themselves may create that possibility, who knows? have hope ^_^
